It was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful and interesting place. The château and it’s grounds are pleasant and comfortable. It’s about a fifteen minute drive to the center of Angouleme, and I suspect a lot nicer than any of the alternatives there, especially as a base for exploring the region. The owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and the breakfasts, featuring home cooked dishes, often made from fruits grown on the property, were delicious. There is also a beautiful river a short walk away and two wonderful dogs. All in all one of the most enjoyable places we have ever stayed. And quite reasonably priced.

quaint and so typically French this was a delightful stay and so different to the countless corporate hotels available. the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Our host was simply charming.
