We went to Siwa in cafour house a few days back and I must say - it was one of the best trips ever. The people working there are so welcoming, you feel right at home from the first day. Special thanks go to Noor and Abdul for the great hospitality and nice conversations, and of course to Hakam our guide for the whole trip - he made our holiday perfect. I was originally supposed to only stay one night at Paloma Lodge from 6 Nov to 7 Nov, but because I enjoyed my stay here so much, I decided to extend for 4 more nights, only checking out on 10 Nov instead. Paloma Lodge is very well located, with only about 5 mins’ walk away from Siwan town centre where all the restaurants, cafés and shops are located. Apart from that, it’s only a stone’s throw away from a fresh water spring, where it’s perfect for an early morning or mid-afternoon swim. The host, Captain Nair, is super kind, warm and hospitable! He made me feel very welcomed and because I was a solo female traveller, he would check on me when I’m out later in the evening. In fact, he invited me to dinners at the lodge with lovely meals, either prepared by the good Captain himself, or his lovely housekeeper, Safie! The lodge is very tastefully decorated and kept very clean. The one-room apartment that I stayed in was very cosy and was sufficiently equipped with kitchen appliances, such as; electric kettle, toaster oven and a fridge. I will definitely stay at Paloma Lodge again, when I come back to Siwa!! It was a very enjoyable and cosy homestay which felt like you are with family. A home away from home.

Great owner. The location of the guesthouse is a quiet place, where you can enjoy his guitar and hot springs in silence. It's a special experience. Breakfast was also good. We also went on tour with him. It's affordable. He took me to places that only locals know about, and I had a great time.

Baben Home is the best you can find in Siwa. The owner Maryhan is a young woman and she does her best to value the tipical siwa house and to make you feel home. I only stayed one night but I would have stayed there for a month if I could! The rooms are super nice, the shared areas are very casual and the compostable toilet helps the enviroment. The breakfast was delicious and home-made cooked. I had a great time with Matyhan too, she helped me and some new friends to get around the area and she gave us the BEST suggestions. In other words, I can't wait to come back. I already miss Siwa, Maryhan and Baben Home.
