Lovely sandy beachside town, friendly locals, great public transport especially the tram so easy to get to Ostend & Knokke-Heist. Fabulous bakeries !! We've been in the summer and winter as we have family living here. De Haan was lovely. It seems to be an upmarket seaside town. I imagine it would look amazing in the summer, although with the Christmas lights it was magical at this time of year. Not many options for restaurants and most were very expensive. There was a lovely pop-up bar (basically an alpine-style wooden hut) which was rammed full every night with affordable beers and great atmosphere.

Lovely beach, really wide and long. Great supermarket (Delhaize) for self catering. Easy transport along the coast using the tram. Nice little town and the only one with low rise buildings behind the beach unlike the rest of the Belgian coast which has high rise apartments.

Small town at the seaside. Nice beach. Restaurants, shops etc. Ideal for people and families who prefer a smaller more quiet place. Someone looking for a more vivid atmosphere may prefer Knokke or Ostende.

So relaxing! We slept well with the sea air. Feels like the hotel was recently upgraded since the fixtures, bed, and bath looked new. The breakfast was excellent: carefully planned, beautifully balanced, and the bread is the BEST in Belgium! The owners and staff clearly care about the property and their guests’ experience. Glad we booked several months in advance since the rooms filled up for a holiday.

If you ask Sabine can bake you an egg. As a dessert fresh fruit salade and home made jam. Also home made cake is available during the day. The location is great, close by Brugge and only 1 hoir drive to Lille France. If you want to make a trip to there. De Haan city is a charming small city. There is enought to do with a lot of nice places to enjoy nice food. The beach is 10 minutes away. I had a great stay. Recomend everyone.
