It's super clean and cozy, feels like an old charming country house. Breakfast was awesome, fresh and delicious. Staff super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends. My partner felt a bit cold at night and we contacted the front desk, the manager provided with an extra heater right away, super helpful.

Absolutely breathtaking ! Lake after lake after lake, they’re everywhere. Lots of wildlife as well. The views are incredible and the people are so kind and accommodating. If you love great seafood, this is one of the place to go in Nova Scotia.

Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes.
Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes. It is very scenic with lovely tourist shops and cafes. The scenery is amazing and the salt water lake offers recreational opportunities. Don't miss the nightly ceilidh, and especially on Thursday evenings. There are lots of great places to eat or drink local beverages.

A very pretty town in itself and the perfect jumping off for the famed Cabot Trail. There are some nice restaurants including the Freight Shed which sits right on the dock which has Muskoka chairs where one can sit and take in the view of the lighthouse.

We spent a lot more time in the Bell's museum because it was above and beyond our expectation.
The museum guided tours are a must-do!
It runs only twice a day (morning and afternoon, but different tour subjects), so make sure to make it.
Our guid was just fantastic!.
We wish our kids were with us for this.
All in all we spent half a day at the museum.

Small town with many restaurants, boutiques, cafes as well as basic amenities such as a pharmacy and grocery store. Wonderful walks along the shore of the Bras D’Or lakes as well as the pier and through town. There are also cultural events such as the music concert we attended and a drama group that puts on plays. The Alexander Bell museum is worth a visit as well.

Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit. We learned so much about him and his wife and their impact on science and aviation and so much more!! Needs to be taught in school

Spacious bathroom and full tub shower was very clean, all towels provided.

Decent wifi available compared to other motels in Cape Breton but not super fast.
Nice flatscreen TV with satellite.
Spacious bedrooms.
Manager Roland was very friendly.
We loved the Silver Dart Lodge & will definitely come back to spend more time around Baddeck. The location is great- close to the start of the Cabot Trail and to Sydney. The view from our room of the lake was beautiful. The desk staff was friendly, helpful & professional. We ate dinner & breakfast there & received good service & food, despite the challenges of just having reopened after a 26 month covid shutdown. We especially enjoyed talking with Beverly who made our breakfast memorable and fun.
Great value for money. The location is great as well to explore the east side (starting counterclockwise from Baddeck) of the island. To be honest, I would not even mind staying here visiting Cheticamp (1.5 hours drive) on the other side of the island. They made fresh breakfast for all guests. They also provided recommendations for places and activities on the island. Lovely owners, really nice people. 1000% will recommend their place if anyone visits Cape Breton island.
I found the lodge was showing it’s wear. The room with two queen beds was small, but did have a mini fridge. The continental breakfast was good, in a bright eating area. The lodge location was very good, in the heart of Baddeck and a short drive to restaurants. The staff did their best to improve our stay, however some technical challenges were beyond their control. Despite the terrific staff we encountered I would not return to this property.
Very nice older hotel with scenic views from various shared outdoor patios and seating areas on the grounds. The buildings seem to be in very good condition and well kept. Easy walking distance to the main street of Baddeck where you can explore a variety of restaurants and shops. The rooms are nicely appointed with good beds and pillows. The on site laundry facilities are a welcome touch when on an extended vacation.
Dunlop Inn is located on the outskirts of Baddeck but still in close proximity to town centre. This Victorian era house is right on the water unlike centrally located Telegraph House Hotel which is part of the group.
Our room was spacious beds comfortable and breakfast perfect
The owners live in the property in low season and thus this explains the very homely atmosphere
It is a perfect stopover on Cabot Trail
The room was very clean, comfortable and included a coffe machine, microwave, cups, all you need to make yourself at home. The owners are very friendly and helpful, they even borrowed us the card for the laundromat that is located in Baddeck. The location is very convenient to travel around Cape Breton and you have the privilege to wake up few steps away from the ocean.
I liked the location. Was on a hill so had an amazing view of Bras D'Or lake. Went for a nice swim & enjoyed a beer on the dock. Was a 3-5 minute drive to Baddeck. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Dining room was very pleasant with a great view of lake. Breakfast, which is not included in price, was wonderful and service was great.
Room smelled bad, like it was really old and mouldy. Air conditioner was extremely loud making it difficult to sit on the deck with friends to enjoy the view. Potted plants outdoors were mostly dead. No one came to remove trash during 4 night stay. We ordered dinner take out from hotel restaurant and it was not good.
Baddeck is a wonderful location and this Inn is right on the waterfront. The rooms were nicely furnished with comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. The breakfast coupons provided for the Watershed were ample and the food delicious. The staff was friendly and more than helpful! We would come back in a moment!
The view from the room was astounding . Breakfast was continental self service, and was excellent. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. It was an excellent location for driving around the area. Baddeck is a nice little town with good food. Would recommend and use again if in the area
a resort style property right on the lake at Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, with many lodge style buildings. Make sure to go to the Alexander Graham Bell museum, so fascinating. and go to the The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs, which is a local Celtic music show put on nightly in town.
No issues at all. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were, very clean. Breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. Pleasant, friendly and relaxing stay. I will recommend this place to anyone who is travelling to Baddeck or anyone on their way to the Ferry to NL
Thank you
Located right by the lakeside in central Baddeck. Wonderful view of the quay and lake from our balcony.
Very low in facilities (virtually nil), but that suited us.
Excellent breakfast was served in the The Freight Shed on the quay (two minutes walk) with a $20 voucher.
The hosts were great. They accommodated our early breakfast request. They were very friendly and we enjoyed talking to them. This is a gem in a Baddeck. We will go there again and tell family and friends.
The location was very good and well suited to our purpose for being in Baddeck. The bed was very comfortable although the top cover was really heavy especially for this time of the year.
