Willow House Inn B&B, hotel in Pictou

Built in 1840, this Pictou guest house is 500 meters from the waterfront area, featuring shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. Each unique rooms offers free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom.

We were upgraded to a larger room with a King bed. The room was perfect and Brenda and George were excellent hosts, offering us coffee, tea and shortbread cookies on arrival. They asked us what we would prefer for breakfast and when they made breakfast for us, it was fantastic! Thank you so much for this experience! We plan to be back in the fall.

Comfort Inn New Glasgow, hotel in Pictou

Ideally located in Pictou County, just minutes from downtown New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, the Comfort Inn offers a non-smoking environment and a daily hot breakfast.

The evening staff is very polite and full of energy. It really pops out when someone is passionate. The rooms are clean, and the mall is located across the street, with Tim's being even closer, not that you'll need it as a very good breakfast or included. Don't seem to understand the bad reviews about the food, as it was decent.

Very friendly people. The sheep farm and wool store and lavender farm were the best. Town decided to clean a septic area in front of a restaurant at lunch time! STINKY and LOUD. Ate at Harbour House Ales and Spirits.. save your money. Nook and Cranny delicious.

We stayed for one night and arrived late but we were welcomed and we could visit the other bedrooms to chose the best for us. They asked us what time we wanted to have breakfast. They made recommendations for the restaurants.

    I love Pictou!

I love Pictou! There are great places to eat, a marvellous place on Front Street to buy pottery and other beautiful things. Love to walk along the trail by the harbour (pictures of two herons on Wednesday)and explore the small business and chat with the VERY friendly people. You get to feel at home in Pictou very quickly.

Beautiful town; I had a delightful sunrise yoga/prayer session by the ocean side and met some locals as well. How fantastic of a place. I truly hope you take time to stay here. It is close to Cape Breton Island and a ferry away from PEI. A gem of a place. I will be back, hopefully.

Pictou is a beautiful little town with some nice historic sites, waterfront dining and some cool little shops. Unfortunately it seems that many Food & beverage places have closed permanently over the past couple of years, perhaps due to the closure of the Pulp & Paper Mill and/or the pandemic. But the huge plus is that the air no longer carries a toxic odour.

Pictou is a picturesque town with friendly people. Great beaches nearby and wonderful ocean views. Only place I have ever been where a juvenile Bald Eagle, sitting on a post, was comfortable enough to let us and others get close for a photo op....pretty amazing.....

The perfect location for seeing the area and for the ferry to PEI. It was quiet and comfortable, beautifully decorated and Prity and Barry treated us like friends. We arrived quite a bit later than expected but they still took the time to welcome us with some wine and treats delivered to our room. In the morning we were provided a custom breakfast (lobster Benny!!!) and all the extras at our requested time. Barry provided a house tour before we left…couldn’t have asked for more!

I do not usually post reviews as one person’s opinion can be different than another’s. As a traveller that has traveled extensively through Canada, US, Europe, Mexico & Caribbean, I feel it is an obligation to provide other travellers notification of a facility that is not as advertised & worth the value charged. This facility is very authentic colonial. The parlour & dining rooms are very authentic & nicely appointed. The hotel common area is clean

All around wonderful. The owners truly go above and beyond for guests. They were very accommodating with making a separate meal for our young daughter. The breakfast (french toast and eggs Benedict) was cooked from scratch and absolutely delicious. The inn itself is beautifully appointed and the rooms are spacious and bright. Walking distance to the center of Pictou. Highly recommend! The best bed and breakfast we have yet to stay at.

We loved staying at this historic home in Pictou! Our hosts were very attentive and charming! We loved a bountiful breakfast served in a very quaint front room. We also enjoyed the parlor for socializing and resting. The home is so close to the Hector Heritage Quay (museum), the waterfront, some excellent restaurants and a lively entertainment tent (set up for the summer tourist season). Highly recommend!

The dining room has spectacular views, and tables are positioned to enjoy them. The log cabin lodge is beautiful and spacious, reminiscent of U.S national park lodges. Adirondack chairs on the bluffs overlooking the ocean provide scenic and private seatings. The landscaping is also very nicely done. Excellent value for a unique property.

It was the cheapest with decent reviews for Pictou and they let us check in an hour early. Also the room especially the updated bathroom seemed very clean. TV was good and the bed was very comfortable. It had a microwave and a mini fridge in the room and a nice little closet with hangers.
