Known for its international diplomacy, Geneva is the gateway city to the Swiss Alps and contains many international organisations that lend the lake-side city a cosmopolitan flair. It is filled with the best in cuisine, diverse languages and people, and top 5-star hotels.
It's easy to fly in to Geneva Airport, and like the rest of Switzerland, the public transport system is incredibly efficient. And the antique shops and steep, cobbled streets of the Old Town can be explored by foot or bicycle.
Many of the sights are monumental buildings such as the St Pierre Cathedral, but you can escape the chilly winters inside museums and galleries displaying everything from the Renaissance to the Contemporary.
Even if getting out into the wilderness of the Swiss Alps isn’t an option, there’s plenty of nature accessible within the city limits. Parc des Bastions offers tree-lined walks and a game of giant chess and Parc de la Grange is a green space situated on the Lake Geneva promenade. Jet d'Eau, a 140-metre high fountain in the centre of Lake Geneva is beautifully lit at night.
With over 90 hotels available, Booking.com ensures that whether you are travelling for business or pleasure you can experience the best accommodations Geneva has to offer.

Excellent places to visit - Cathedral, the Lake was amazing - water taxis included on your travel pass, Paddle boat runs all year round. Jet D'eau was amzing. Public transport was comprehensive and punctual. CERN is a must see. Air quality was excellent. Pound Stirling to CHF was not greast so comes accross as expensive - worth doing your home work before you travel. Be a savvy diner.
All things said, it was my second trip and I am going back again in mid Masy!

Carouge is a unique and super nice district!
Carouge is a unique and super nice district! Enjoyed the cafés, the small stores, the artisanal vibe, art where you look.
Great tramways, bus system - easy to get around. Next time by bike.
The city has lots to offer beside jet d’eau - of course the common chains but check out the area around WHO and Red Cross museum.

A nice city, but it feels like a lot could be seen in little time. I stayed for 2 days and it seemed enough.
The lake is nice, and I like the diversity of restaurants there. A lot of rare birds for France, but handfed by the public, which isn't nice. Public transportation is easliy accessible and it was very nice to get a free illimitated pass even to the boat buses (given by most of the hotels)!
There is also a small open air iceskating ring, a lovely park by the lake and virtual reality experience.
We did walk past a man searching for a fight around 8PM (he was obviously drunk and told us to call the cops, and we had just walked past 3 frightening guys, not so far from the center), and we also saw a cyclist inconscious on the pavement by day with a huge injury on the head... Not feeling really safe there ^^;

Geneva is like a condensed version of Manchester: big buildings, great transport infrastructure, and welcoming people. It is extremely expensive though - 3-4x as much as London, which shocked me.
However it is a bit grotty near the train station (where all the best ethnic food is typically), and I didn't feel totally safe. Interestingly, the RLD felt relatively safe because it was so busy with tourists ogling and locals going about their business. You do get approached by prostitutes but they're friendly enough when you say no so it wasn't anything that made me feel uncomfortable etc.
The parks and gardens are outstanding. I also enjoyed the reptile house near the airport. The coffee and snacks at Boreal are fantastic and they cater for dietary requirements and speak fluent English too, so I spent a lot of time there.
With all this said, Geneva is worthy of a short weekend city break or enjoying a long layover in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there for longer.

The city on the lake front is beautiful. and so are the botanical gardens. The people are helpful and friendly. The pace of the city is measured. Every public convenience and space is superbly designed.
The airport is a joy. Everything works well and on time. Water can be had from the tap. Food is delicious. Public transport is free if you get a pass. You can jump on to any bus, tram, boat or train within the city at no cost. And you can drive or catch a train to Lausanne or Chamonix within an hour. Not sure of night life, because I had no time nor the inclination. But all in all a wonderful city.
Staff was a lovely, kind, friendly accommodating. It was my friends birthday, so the desk attendant help me set up a surprise with cake, flowers, balloons went above and beyond to decorate the room, the thoughtfulness, beauty of the hotel, the surrounding area, made it easy for an American to travel through Geneva. Also, another thing that stuck out in my mind was the shower in the bathroom/ the bathroom itself was amazingly clean and the water pressure was awesome. Felt like a spa.
The hotel is located in a great neighborhood, bus stops are ~5 minute walk, the Geneva Bus Station is 3 minutes walk, and the train station is 10 minute walk.
It is also 2 minute walk from the lake with a lot of restaurants surrounding it.
The staff were amazing and very helpful, always ready to answer any questions, I didn't face a single hassle while staying there.
And on top of that, on my birthday, they left me a beautiful present in the room!
Our second stay at this hotel and would definitely go back again in the future. Rooms were clean though the design of our room made the entrance a bit tight, also shower head was located at the side rather than at the front making taking a bath harder (note this was not the case for our daughter's room). Location is excellent, just across the street from Geneva Train Station and metro/bus stops as well. Restaurants and shops are plenty nearby as well.
The hotel is very convinient & accessible to all the places we visited while we are in Geneva. The room is nice & clean, our request was met as we requested for a quite room with a nice view, looking over some mountains outside.
The staffs are friendly & very helpful.too.❤️🥰👌👏👌
Keep up the good job Ibis Budget Geneve Palexpo Aeroport Hotel👏👌❤️
Best regards❤️

We liked the tiny house/capsule hotel vibe at Citizen M Geneva. The room was small but really well thought out. The space was used effectively and there was plenty of storage spaces. Everything was nice and clean and modern. We loved the view of Lake Geneva from our bedroom window! The bed was very comfortable. The location is very good. It’s only a very short walk to Lake Geneva and the city centre.
the location is fantastic! It’s across the street from the main train station so getting all around Geneva and Switzerland is super easy. Also, sound proofed windows meant no noise from the trains or passersby’s! As a solo female traveler I felt safe and the staff was respectful and supportive. in addition to the train station, lots of restaurants, stores, and cool shops close by.
Perfect for a one night stay. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly. The hotel is accessible very easilly with the free shuttle bus from the Geneva airport. I arrived late at night so I appreciated that the shuttle runs non stop.
It is probably one of the best hotels in Geneva. The staff is polite and very helpful, everything is clean, there is a great view on the city and the breakfasts are the best ones I ever had in a hotel. Everything you need is available, including even a separate dog menu!
For Geneva this hotel offered the best price and qulity ration to my personal view. The location is quite good. Amazing breakfast for a fair price. Room and bathroom were just super clean and comfortable. The hotel personnel was well disposed and willing to help.
From the friendly welcome to the immaculately clean rooms, the location for us was perfect and a lovely stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel for visitors to Geneva and if interested in using the train to travel to other parts of Switzerland.
Great location by Geneve airport. Somewhat easy to walk to (we arrived when shuttle wasnt running. Room was ready early. Staff was all very friendly. The best/largest towels we had our entire trip to Switzerland. Would definitely recommend.
The best thing about this property is probably the location. it is right at the border of Carouge, which I think is the nicest part of Geneva with the old houses and all it’s restaurants. for this reason I would stay at this hotel again.
Fabulous hotel close to the train station, wonderful and friendly staff. Beautifully decorated with the best hotel shower! This will be my go-to hotel in Geneva from now on.
Very easy access to Geneva airport, by walk (10m) or bus (4m).
Easy access to the city by frequent bus right next to the hotel.
Clean, organized, quiet and comfortable!
Property was very clean and neat. Very close to the Geneva Airport. Best part was that the hotel arranges airport pickup and drop every 20mins and throughout 24hrs.
