It is an active city with many places to explore. There is a lot of traffic, but the taxis and others motorist have a system that keeps things moving. The people are very friendly and helpful. Great city, with great food and a lot of tourist spots like the Carnival Museum, Restaurant la Cueva, the Zoo, the food court at the river Malecón. And close to Puerto Colombia which is a very nice beach with beautiful statues of the inmigrants that came to the once important harbor, and a Lighthouse that turns on at night.

Barranquilla should be avoided by all. The river boat service although free went up the river for 15 mins, turned round and went back. That was the exciting parts. Forget the point where ocean meets river. No chance of ever getting there. Glad we left.Bowley - 10Scored 10

This is a modern, well-appointed townhouse in a gated community of 8. Located in the nice part of town on a quiet side street within walking distance of a mall/Exito. Gated with 24 hour security. Room for 6 adults (3 bedrooms). If I were ever to live in Barranquilla, I would consider buying a place like this. The rental price was a great deal, too.

Barranquilla is a lovely city close to the coast with a warm climate. There are plenty of places to shop and a lot of delicious restaurants to try. If you enjoy relaxing, eating, and shopping, then this is the place for you. Catching a taxi is easy or you can use uber.

The staff is so friendly and welcoming. It just has the nicest ’vibe’. The hotel is very quiet, the beds and linens are fantastic. The hotel and rooms are spotless, the neighborhood is quiet, safe and beautiful for walking. Breakfast was different every morning and always a big variety. Don’t miss trying their restaurant, also out of this world.

The hotel was modest but the room was cleaned daily and clean throughout. The shower was not heated but it didn’t matter to us. It was perfect for our needs and felt safe. Staff was on top of everything. We would stay again for a good place to sleep and spending the day out sight seeing.

The food at the restaurant was great value and tasty, we had lunch there everyday. The breakfast included was a typical colombian breakfast. They provided room service each day, making our bed.
