BUGA was the draw, and it was well worth it. Loved the area and the revitalized neighborhoods nearby including the canals. The astronomical clock at the Rathaus was fascinating. Great paths for walking and biking along the riverways. Good and new public transportation.

Good food and wine/beer. The city was heavily damaged during WWII and was rebuild in the typical, unassuming 1950th style, so do not expect to come here for much of history. The surrounding vineyards are lovely and makes Heilbronn as a perfect place to explore the country side.

The city is very green, especially with the Bundesgartenschau close to the heart of the centre. The river walk makes for enjoyable walks in romantic scenery without motor traffic. There are lots of cyclists all over the town. Heilbronn has some excellent restaurants, I highly recommend Velo which offers delicious vegan food, nicely presented. Make sure to book a table, it seems to be a popular place.MonikaIreland

Pleasant town, friendly people. The hotel was nice, and as expected. The host very welcoming, the room very clean, but basic (I had a single room as a solo traveler).
