Marc and his family always give us a good, honest welcome. The hotel is peaceful and spotlessly clean with ample car parking spaces. The food is first class, nicely presented and delicious. It is obvious that it is run by a family not paid employees. We will be back again next year.

Very clean and friendly place with a good choice of bars and restaurants even late in the season. Very quiet at night which was perfect. no loud music or shouting in the streets. Very easy access to the beach which was cleaned every day. Entering the sea for a swim was easy as there aren't any rocks at the water's edge as there are on so many beaches further north.

Fabulous Hotel. We will be back.

Fabulous Hotel. We will be back. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent breakfasts and delicious dinners. A truly Lux Experience in beautiful nature and surroundings, amazing room and facilities. Even the detail of having a bottle of sparkly in ice with two glasses in our room awaiting our arrival. Spa treatments superb and well worth the money. And did I mention the gorgeous pool and jacuzzi experience perched on the side of the hill with amazing sea views and perfect silence? If you wish to relax and disconnect in nature, yet have all the delights of Cabo de Gata Natural Park in your doorstep you cannot do better than here.

Agua Amarga is a small beautiful village with a long sandy beach cove. It is ideal for a short visit. There are a small number of restaurants and bars in the village whose main speciality is fish. Agua Amarga is unspoilt and very popular in the summer and many visitors moor their boats in the bay. There is a motor home park just outside the village and many apartments to rent in the summer season. The Hotel Family is an excellent hotel to stay in and is 2 minutes from the beach. Out of season Agua Amarga is quiet and tranquil and is ideal for a relaxing stay.

If you're traveling from Almeria by public transportation, make sure you find out the bus schedule. It doesn't pass by frequently. The only bus in the afternoon on a Friday was at 8 pm and the only bus back to Almeria on a Monday morning was at 9:10 am. The bus company you can call is Frahermar. The hike to Cala de San Pedro has amazing views! It could take 3 to 5 hours from Agua Amarga.

The owner was super helpful, carrying our cases and attending to our every need. The hotel is on the beach, the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep and the terrace restaurant serves delicious Spanish food. The breakfast was amazing and if something particular was missing, you just had to tell the owner and the next day you would have it - in our case yoghurt. The beach is sandy and there are hikes up over the cliffs if you like walking. There is also a water dispenser in the reception area where you can refill your water bottle.

This place is really nice, everything is done with a great taste and it is very peaceful there. Rooms are confortable and our room had a “patio” where we could keep our dogs and there was also a small kitchen (which we used very little but for families it can be very handy). the pool and garden areas are also very nice and it is also easy to go for a walk directly from the property. and it is only a few minutes (by car) from Agua Amarga and its’ main beach. And the breakfast is delicious. with a lot of local specialities.

A beautiful family run hotel. The room (13) was lovely large spacious and a very comfortable bed. Whirlpool bath and double vanity.Balcony with a sea view. A short stroll to the beach and into the small town. Pool was lovely and spotless. Breakfast was superb, freshly sliced fruits, yougurts cooked breakfasrt items as well as cold meats and even smoked salmon, freshly squeezed OJ and coffees made to order. The staff were all so helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The location, surrounded with stunning views, within walking distance to Agua Amarga, which has a couple of small supermarkets to buy necessities. The super private pool, terraces and grounds, the house itself, artful and very comfortable with lots of sofas and areas to sit and enjoy, the huge, well equipped kitchen. Just the two of us, and we each had our own bedroom. Slept very well! Great hospitality.

Our stay at Real Agua Amarga was the highlight of our Spain Vacation! The property was lovely, quiet, comfortable and very clean. Aura was always available for questions and she kept in touch with us everyday. The little town was just a walk away and the beach and restaurants we visited where very good. Great hiking close by as well. Would love to go back!!

Atmospheric cortijo with just three units in a peaceful landscaped setting. Amazing pool with views across wild hills. 5 min drive inland from Agua Amarga which is one of the nicer Cabo de Gata towns. Nice that each of the two bedrooms had its own bathroom (Cala de Plomo Suite).
