The location is fantastic I travel abroad by motorcycle and always spend my last night here I’ve stayed many times. The channel tunnel is about 10 minutes away so easy access

Great location opposite Calais Ville, everything was in walking distance. I cannot understand the bad reviews, it is a great place for an overnight stop.

After reading previous (old) reviews on TripAdvisor, we were a bit apprehensive of what to expect before we arrived at the hotel. We knew the exterior of the building didn't really look welcoming, but we hoped the interior wasn't as bad. We were pleasantly surprised by what we were led to believe was a building site inside due to the "ongoing" renovations. Yes, there were signs of ongoing work with a few wires exposed on the landing ceilings, but that was all. The room was small but had everything you needed in there, including a kettle and real china cups!!🎉 there were 2 chairs and a nice ensuite. The bed and pillows were really, really comfortable. There was a small balcony overlooking the park , and if the weather had been warmer, we would have made use of it 🥺 There was a shared lounge with a fridge and a coffee machine, which was a nice touch. All in all, we found it to be preferable to the other one night stop over, value for money hotels in Calais, which unfortunately seem to be few and far between these days. And yes, we feel we did make a good choice.

The hotel is well located, not far from the tunnel/ferry terminal and close to many restaurants and parks. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming to our dog. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend.

We ate at Family Pub which is a friendly, open-all-day spot. Calais is small and a pedestrian-perfect town. We hit it on a very windy weekend. We stayed at the Lighthouse Inn from booking.com. Claire was wonderful. She had valuable insight on places to eat. Her apartment is ultra clean and modern with all the latest tech with massive big beds. Plan to return.

We didn't stay long enough to be able to give a decent review of Calais, just 48 hours. We did really enjoy it and will happily return. There were a large selection of restaurants to choose from, some large, slightly out of town hypermarches, and some boulangeries that we enjoyed. We enjoyed Le Bleriot Beach, even in February. We visited Dunkirk and even crossed the border into De Panne in Belgium. We discovered that Calais is most definitely a place to visit in its own right, not just for a night before a ferry or a tunnel crossing.

Calais as been revamped, and a lot of money spent on the beach area. Good restaurants!! Especially one called the MOUTON BLANC!! Simple French cooking and cheap. This place could be a great family holiday. Great beaches and nice walks to do. Your not that far from Paris or Brussels with easy access to trains that Serve both capitals. Yes overall good place.

Calais is seen by many as just a convenient stopover to take the ferry and not as a destination in its own right. It may not have aesthetic attraction of nearby Boulogne sur Mer but there are things to see and do. Take a wander and see the stunning Calais Town Hall and tower . There is the famous Rodin sculpture The Burghers of Calais which is very impressive and the shopping , there is quite a good choice for restaurants and bars. Plus, very underrated is the sandy beach.

Usually travel through Calais but we were pleasantly surprised at finding some really interesting older places around the centre. We found a really lovely little family restaurant that was full of locals. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price with a great atmosphere. Certainly gave us an insight into Calais which was very favourable.
It wasn't big, nor special. But it was clean and perfect for 1 nite while traveling. It was quiet, the shower was good and hot, they provided tea and hot water to relax. There is no store or services nearby and we came in on a Sunday late when everything was closed. The following morning they offered contenintal breakfast that was pretty nice for a charge. Staff was good.
Friendly staff, basic-yet-good breakfast (even offering gluten-free options on request), located centrally within Calais, about 15 minutes away from the beach. Great accommodation if needing to spend the night before taking the ferry the next day. Bus stop to get to the passenger terminal is only about about 30m down from the hotel entrance, the bus ride itself is for free.
This is a stunning hotel right in the centre of Calais. The rooms are beautifully decorated and themed on aspects of Calais' history. Laurent and Nathalie are exceptional hosts; they run the hotel with pride and commitment. We had a medical issue whilst we were staying with them and they were extremely helpful and supportive.
We will definately be returning!
location. price. simplicity. this is not a 5* hotel but I have stayed here over half a dozen times. the location is brilliant. there is a nice outside bar. parking is safe. and it’s a short 15 minute walk into town where there are an abundance of restaurants.
I have stayed in many budget hotels in Calais, many times. this is my favourite of all.
This is a gem of a hotel. Benoit, the owner is a great communicator & very welcoming. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking a quiet street and park. The room was nicely decorated but basic which was perfect for our overnight stay in Calais. All local amenities are within a short walk & Le Shuttle was a 15 minute drive.
The breakfast was a delight! The recommendation for dinner, and spontaneous offer to call for reservations, was gracious and earned us preferred treatment at a wonderful, traditional, yet reasonably priced, establishment. we would not stay anywhere else in Calais, and look forward to our next visit.
The setting was very quiet and peaceful within striking distance of the shops, beach and station in Calais. The breakfast was varied and fresh in a beautiful large dining room. I liked the antique furniture scattered around the hotel. There was also a safe underground garage for parking.
We stay in Calais regularly en route to our holiday home in France and have finally found a decent reasonably priced clean and tidy hotel, just five minutes walk from the centre of town but in a quiet neighborhood .We have booked again for our return journey
The price was good, and room was clean, 20 min walk to the centre of Calais. We didn't eat at the Hotel restaurant, so i cannot review the food. Instead we walked 20 minutes to a restaurant towards the big supermarket Auchan as it was a very nice sunny day.
Super location for a stay in Calais. It was easy to park and a short walk to the centre of town with many restaurants and bars. The accommodation was clean and comfortable a great base to explore the town and nearby countryside.
Decent family-friendly hotel in Calais 15 mins. from the tunnel. Suited us perfectly for an overnight stop. Night concierge was particularly friendly and helpful. Kids especially liked the breakfast which had loads of choice.
We have been coming for years to this hotel. The main reason is the quality of the bed and the kindness of the personnel. We shall keep coming back every time we cross over to Calais.
Nice apartment in the city centre of Calais. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The perfect choice for a short stay-over on one's way to or from the Channel Tunnel.
