Because of a car breakdown my friend and I arrived late at night, long after the hotel reception closed. The hotel provided clear instructions on how to gain entry to first the hotel and then our rooms which worked perfectly and was most welcome after a stressful journey. The rooms exceeded our expectations, the breakfast met our needs entirely and for a two star hotel at a modest price, it certainly punched above its weight. Would we stay there again? Definitely.

Le petit déjeuner super complet très bien a dire .
Royan is in a beautiful position facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Royan is in a beautiful position facing the Atlantic Ocean. There are some good fish restaurants and easy access to other west coast towns like Saintes and La Rochelle. It’s a good place to stay en route to driving further south in France or Spain.

Very intresting town architecturally rebuilt in the 1950s after the brits flattened it to release the royanais from german occupancy. The Church of notre dame is stunning. Lots of lovely shops of all kinds and a superb market Hall in the shape of a cockle shell. Lovely marina with little bars and restaurants. Big choice of eating places and everything is within walking distance too.

Nice place to get away for a few days, we were lucky with the weather so were able to spend time on the beach. Apart from the cathedral and shopping not much else to see or do. There are boat trips but we didn't bother as the locations didn't look very interesting. Good place to go if you like jet ski's.

Royan is a beautiful seaside resort that is kept very clean.
Royan is a beautiful seaside resort that is kept very clean. It has many restaurants and the service in most is very good. The people in the town are mostly friendly and helpful and there are a lot of things to do. Especially on the beaches. There is also a ferry to the other side of the the estuary if you fancy a day trip. There are other boat trips avaiable from the Marina area.
The Hotel is overlooking the water but not the beach directly so it was a little less noisy and the view more scenic. We had a nice balcony with chairs and a table and the little fridge in our room meant we could enjoy the sunset with a glass of chilled wine. The host was very friendly and helped carry my bags to the first floor room. He gave us good recommendations for a restaurant in the nearby port area which was an easy stroll away. Breakfast included some nice home made treats.
The property was very well equipped, attractively decorated, beautifully clean, comfortable and quiet. Annick and Michel were very welcoming and apprehensive!
This was because we were the first English guests they had welcomed. We managed in “Franglais” and google translate. I would highly recommend a stay here. We had not been to Royan before and enjoyed the atmosphere and the beaches. We will return.
Thank you Annick.
The property which is a one bedroom apartment is situated in a very quiet part of town yet is a 15 minute level walk to the town centre . The apartment was spotlessly and the facilities in the apartment offer every thing that is needed for a self catering holiday in France. We would like to say a particular thank you to Mirabelle the lady that checked us in who was very polite and helpful (nothing too much trouble)
The host of the hotel met us and helped us carry our various motorbike bags up to the second floor. The hotel was recently refurbished with excellent taste and attention to details. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic! There was a wonderful choice of breads, croissants, homemade sweet breads, hams, cheeses and more. The bed was comfortable.
Although the hotel was across the road from the popular beach & busy restaurants & bars its location was surprisingly quiet. Spacious room was spotless & nicely decorated. Free parking directly outside the hotel was an added bonus. The two girls on reception were very friendly & couldnt be more helpful.
The Family Golf Hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is so well situated and has a lovely patio view. Easy access to the beach amd nearby restaurants. All 7 of us wanted to stay longer! We definitely enjoyed the Family Golf Hotel and would be delighted to return!
In an emergency, Anne opened her Studio to us which was fully ready, clean, and very quiet. And also cool in the summer when it can get really hot. Anne was super easy to communicate with - we booked 5 minutes before we arrived. The Market of Royan is 5 minutes walk and the beach about 15 minutes.
Do not stay here!! This hotel is run by an extremely arrogant and patronizing individual who will go out of his way to make your stay miserable. Zero customer care. Very badly run place, faulty towers! very small rooms and uncomfortable beds.
The owner of the hotel had obviously thought very hard about what their guests would need to make their stay more comfortable. The rooms had safes, coffee and tea, air conditioning and tv.
The receptionist when we arrived was very nice to us and she was very helpful with us having to print off our PLF. We were so grateful the hotel accepted our little dogs.
Beautifully renovated hotel with great facilities. We especially liked the infinity pool. Staff were friendly and the location excellent- right on the beach.
