Design, build and finish of the hut is supurb with some really nice and clever features. Although close to the farm, it's not overlooked which is handy if using the hot tub... which we did almost immediately after arrival and spent hours sat in it drinking champagne whilst star gazing. The hut is lovely and warm and there's also a log burner with wood ready to use if you're visiting during the colder months of the year.

A beautiful period house decorated in keeping with its age and full of interest. Our room was well appointed, dinky but we expected that. It was lovely, clean and warm.
The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast offering was excellent, a good choice of fruit, cereal, hot drinks etc and the cooked breakfast menu was extensive and catered for all tastes. The vegetarian option was first class. Located a 5 minute walk into the main town we found this perfect, close to restaurants, coffee shops etc but away from the hustle and bustle. A bus stop was just opposite the hotel if you didn’t want to use the car for exploring. The hotel had a handy car park for guest use and the pretty garden was a quiet haven for relaxing with a bar facility. There was also a communal guest lounge for guests to use.All in all the Bridge House was the perfect choice for us.

There is so much to do in Bridport.
There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths. There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people.
Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.
Breakfast was superb and the set price 3-course dinner, which changed every day, was high quality and good value. We had planned to dine out 50% of the time but we dined in the hotel restaurant every evening. We thought the hotel had done a very good job in managing the Covid-19 restrictions. We also appreciated the hotel's ethos in sourcing whatever they could locally.
It met and exceeded our expectations. Lynda and David run a great place. We had a very comfortable stay, loved all the thoughtfulness of their accommodation and treats. We loved the view, parking was great and just 10 min walk into town. We used Southcroft as a base to visit Bridport, West Bay, Seaton, Beer and Beaminster.
Fantastic week at the cottage, very peaceful, very private, great position, near enough to town, good bus links to weymouth and Lyme regis, easy walk to west bay. If we go back to this part of Dorset again this cottage would be the first place on our list to stay.
Very cosy atmosphere, good food and excellent service. We stayed in a lovely big room with a four poster bed and a roll top bath. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring the Jurassic Coast and Bridport is an interesting town with lots of great bookshops.
Excellent location in the centre of Bridport and very easy to find. Good sized living space and bedrooms. Lots of local information provided and the small library on the second floor landing was great. Loved the 'little touches' around the apartment.
Room is a little gaudy, but makes a change from corporate hotel suites
Location for Bridport is fantastic and the bar is a good old fashioned locals environment.
Breakfast is excellent and would heartily recommend
Excellent location for West Bay and coastal walks. Bridport was a bit of a walk but do-able (we weren't driving!). Very handy having a Spa within a short walking distance. House was clean and well organised.
Superb hotel and restaurant !! Very nice country location with see view. We regret not have booked 2 days...Thanks to Abbie, Holly and staff for the extra's :-) Greetings from Belgium, Christianne
Very nicely decorated and sympathetically renovated hotel
Small hotel with helpful staff - felt I was looked after
Very comfortable room
Good location in Bridport
Very adequate breakfast
Breakfast was fair. The size of the room and the facilities were luxurious. Location is very convenient for West Bay (a short walk into town) and for Bridport (short drive up the road).
Private access, comprehensive instructions on arrival. Clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. Easy to get to and a lovely part of Bridport.
