A pleasant small town on the shore of Belfast Lough about 10 miles from Belfast, boasting a historic castle, a delightful harbour and marina, and a good prom to stroll along. Good communications by bus or rail, and convenient for the ferries.

Carrickfergus is famous for its Norman castle and keep. The range of shops is not great , but there is a proliferation of chemists! The Marine Highway is great for a good long walk with views of Belfast Lough.

Beautiful sparkling clean town. The walk along the sea is great. The playground opposite the castle is brilliant for young children. The castle itself is unbelievable. The exhibition is excellent and very educational.

The waterfront was lovely - good information posters, flowers, war memorial etc very nice. Shops a bit on the dull side. Streets could do with a bit of attention re empty shops but were mostly litter free. St. Nicholas' Church was wonderful.

The views from the sea front and walks really good. A visit to the castle is a must if you like history. For value for money on food there is a wetherspoons and couldn't go wrong. There is a local train station to get to most places and very easy to use, much better than driving especially in to Belfast.

Beautiful room with plenty of space and nice decor. Full breakfast included which is excellent value given the price of the room. It’s super close to Carrickfergus Castle and only about a 15 min drive from Belfast. In hindsight, I would have stayed here for an extra night rather than in Belfast as you wouldn’t be able to find anything close to this for similar prices in Belfast. It was my favourite stay during my 2 week trip in Ireland/Northern Ireland!

Cottage was really handy for Carrickfergus but in a lovely, quiet location. Upside-down layout of the house added an extra quirk and meant you got the excellent sea views from the living room. Bedrooms quiet and comfortable and the en-suite in the upstairs one was a good bonus, particularly if you have kids staying in that room. Hosts were lovely - really friendly and helpful and our little man enjoyed getting to know the dogs, horses & fish!

Julie's flat was wonderful! It was very nicely decorated and quite comfortable. The windows showed views of the water and the Carrick Fergus castle. Beautiful! Although not expected, Julie left us breakfast food and beverages. And the flat came with off-street parking! P.s. Julie was an excellent host who reached out to us before, during, and after our stay to ensure we were happy.

Very modern with good wi-fi and comfortable furniture, bedding etc. and some helpful provisions Convenient location for town of Carrickfergus and train stop (Downshire) on Belfast / Larne route. Never saw, just heard occasionally (in fine weather) the neighbours so no issues there. Hosts made themselves available for any help though not called upon much as webpage guide provided.

Lovely room with a view out over the hills. Large clean bathroom. Fabulous breakfasts with Lilia's wonderful free range eggs from her own chickens. Lilia had helpful suggestions for places to visit and eat. The location is just up the hill from central Carrickfergus, really handy for Carrickfergus itself, the Giant's Causeway and all the attractions of the scenic coastal road.

Melinda was a sweet and wonderful host. The location is very peaceful with fantastic views of the countryside; you can see Scotland from the room! The homemade breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Melinda's lemon jam was outstanding and her hospitality was unbeatable. This was a perfect stop on our visit to Northern Ireland.
