Our host is very attentive and keen to make everything for us to feel good, the place is very well maintained and clean. The breakfast is excellent, with a vast choice of food. It is a good initiative to ask us the day before what we want to have from the menu. Within a short walking distance from both the railway station and the city of Dunkeld, it is ideally located for train travellers like us.

We stayed here for a Landrover Experience day in Butterstone, which was just a few miles up the road.
It was 50 years since my last visit to Birnam...when i was Youth Hosteling as a 15 year old.
We ate our evening meal in the Inn right next door to the Hotel.
Next time we'd like to stay a bit longer.

Beautiful historical town.
Beautiful historical town. It is very quaint, but it is still so pleasant to walk around. There are a few small shops, bakeries, and restaurants with great food. Everyone there was so friendly. There are a few pubs with affordable prices and great atmospheres. A train station is close by so it is easy to get to bigger towns and cities as well. The town is extremely safe, even at night. I never felt uncomfortable walking around.

Scenery outstanding; village charming.
Scenery outstanding; village charming. The only downside was the lack of pubs/restaurants, as this was over the Xmas period; consequently, on Xmas Eve we booked an over-priced [and not very good] meal at the Tay Bank Hotel -o.k. for a seat if having a meal upstairs [no signs or directions, but a local told us] but small bar downstairs dangerously over-packed with people [getting near the bar to order drinks impossible]. Apart from this local monopoly, Dunkeld is a great place, especially for The Great Outdoors. A walk up nearby Birnam Hill gives wonderful views of the rich surrounding countryside and its cute villages.

Rooms and public spaces were excellent.
Rooms and public spaces were excellent. When we checked in we were told swimming pool closed, this was one of the main reasons we stayed. When I complained to Kenny the duty manager he told me everyone was advised when it was reopened. I told him we were not advised. He insisted we were and walked away. The rest of the staff excellent. Drinks way to expensive £46 for a £12 bottle of wine, £15.50 for a 250 ml glass of sauvingnon

Our stay was relaxing and we liked going on the various walks that were various options. We especially liked the walk along the river past Macbeth’s tree. The Cathedral is well worth a visit and the trees are part of the history too.
Theresa greeted us so warmly that we felt like family arriving for our stay. She had prepared an amazing charcuterie and cheese spread for us because we didn't want to drive more that day. It was a perfect way to appease our appetites and relax at the same time. Our room was very comfortable even though at first sight it seemed to need updating. It's an old farmhouse after all! At breakfast, we were treated like royalty, silver service and all. There was nothing we lacked. Thank you, Theresa!
Amazing apartment, beautifully presented and very stylish. Bedding, towels etc all of good quality and there was everything you could possibly have needed to make your stay enjoyable. Situated in the centre of Dunkeld, lots of lovely shops and great places to eat. We were attending a wedding on the Murthly Estate which was just 15 minutes away and there was plenty of room for us all to get ready in comfort. Suited us better than staying in a hotel.
Excellent B& B, the host, Trevor couldn't do enough. Spotlessly clean room, great breakfast. Great location 10 min walk from centre, via the main road or by the riverside path passing the 500 year old Birnam Oak. If you are going to Dunkeld and Birnam, this is the place to stay. If you plan to eat in one of the hotels/restarants, I would suggest booking in advance as most places were very busy, we ate in the Perth Arms, food was excellent.
The location is absolutely perfect for a real break away, quiet and peaceful but with very easy access to the centre of Dunkeld. The grounds on the bank of the River Tay, are breathtaking! The hotel itself is a beautiful, genteel building and offers a very comfortable stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, cannot fault them at all. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. Will definitely return.
Welcoming staff; spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean room and bathroom; toiletries included shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and soap; excellent breakfast (home made porridge, full Scottish breakfast, selection of cereals, croissants and fresh fruits); central location - just opposite the entrance to the Birnam walking trails; local amenities brochure available in the room; WiFi.
A slightly quaint and quirky, very people and dog friendly hotel set in the wonderful location of Dunkeld.
The restaurant and bistro offer a good selection of well prepared dishes, with the Sunday roast beef dinner our favourite.
Our recently refurbished junior suite provided excellent accommodation for our 3 night stay.
Clean, bright and airy room. Hotel beautifully decorated.
Breakfast had many choices and all were good with fresh coffee, what more could you want!
The owner was a friendly, helpful lady and made us feel very welcome.
Nice area with easy riverside walk to Dunkeld and lots of interesting walks nearby.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dunkeld. i wished had more time to spend there and have chat with people were already staying in.
Breakfast was lovely. Sadly there was a burst water pipe which impacted on the hotel on Saturday evening..... everything closed early. Dunkeld was so quiet this weekend, it is losing it's soul, which is sad.
Such a lovely hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and made you feel right at home. The staff could not have been any more helpful with all our needs. The restaurant had excellent food and service.
Room was very clean and bed was comfy
Staff were very good
Breakfast was exceptional and everything was high quality and more importantly very tasty .
Hotels location location location is fantastic
The location is excellent for exploring Perthshire. Located in the countryside, very quiet and peaceful. It has everything you may need. Very spacious for 2 people, which is great for a change.
Really friendly staff, room very pleasant. Lovely view of red squirrels in a tree when I woke up. Nice walk along the river into Dunkeld if you head down behind the hotel.
The property location was excellent, just a short walk into Dunkeld, and within a short drive of the Newtyle beat on the Tay. Very clean and very well fitted out.
