The hotel is located in a very good location up an alley from the waterfront and near the main square. Our room was a very good size and had two balconies, one with a side view of the sea. Hotel Aggelos Kefalonia, hotel in Argostoli

Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia there you will find Hotel Aggelos Kefalonia. A small, elegant hotel, with similar prestige, built in the neoclassical architectural style of Kefalonia.

Very easy to find, just 5 minutes walk from the main square. Beatiful view of the harbour in front, and for the most part a very quiet area. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, with a great range of products. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

Argostoli Hotel, hotel in Argostoli

The family-run Hotel Argostoli is centrally located in Argostoli Town, just 200 metres from shops, café-bars and restaurants. It features a bar and rooms with air conditioning and inland views.

Location was very good, rooms are super clean and cleaned every day. You have to walk a small hill if you're coming from the marina but its not bad. The staff tho were not friendly at all, didn't help with anything and didn't even smile. You can probably find a better deal down at the marina.

We were looking for a quiet place to stay, after some busy travel time. This place was great. I imagine it is more active in the summer months, but we were looking for peace and quiet. Lots of restaurants nearby, though we chose to cook quite a bit because we've been on the road for a while. There were a couple of things we would have like to see (Archeological Museum and Botanical Gardens) but they weren't open yet. That's okay. We come to Greece in the off-season and know what to expect.

It was our first time to Kefalonia, so weren't quite sure what to expect. We wanted to stay somewhere busy and real, rather than a purpose built resort, so we chose Argostoli. Our first impression was that it did seem quite rundown, especially along the front, but we very quickly changed our views and saw the place for what it is - a busy, working town which was what we wanted. The first night we walked a short distance from our accommodation and soon came across the main square and the numerous streets leading from this which were filled with bars, restaurants, shops, entertainment and that was it for us - we were hooked!! Argostoli is an amazing place, there's lots to see and do, you can visit all the different resorts and great beaches really easily by bus or taxi (if you don't want to hire a car or bike), it has great nightlife, lots of shops, and lovely restaurants serving all types of food. There's plenty of fast food & takeaways if you just want to grab something quick to eat and there's loads of coffee shops. We didn't get chance to do a boat trip or see many of the sights as we were only there for 4 nights, but this is something we definitely want to do on our next visit to the island. Give the place a try and I hope you love it as much as we did!!

It was my second stay in Kefalonia.

It was my second stay in Kefalonia. This time I booked an apartment in Argostoli itself. Previously, I didn't have the opportunity to visit the entire city. Now it turns out that the city hides a lot of positive surprises. The city is beautiful and vibrant. There's nothing missing there. Restaurants, bars, promenade, handicraft shops, main square. A wonderful city, but you need at least a few days to discover its beauty.

    Beautiful town.

Beautiful town. Impressed at how walkable / pedestrian friendly it all felt. Loved seeing the sea turtles in the harbour. Beautiful tavernas along the quayside. Wonderful quick, regular and cheap ferry trip across to Lixouri. Walkable to Lassi where there are beautiful beaches and lots of eating places. Argostoli has lots of amenities (food shops, pharmacies, ATMs etc)

Argostoli is an attractive town, spread out along a bay.

Argostoli is an attractive town, spread out along a bay. It provides a good base for exploring the island. You can use local buses to get to nearby beaches: we liked Kalamia beach (quite low key). The ferry to Lixouri, over the bay, is a very pleasant 30 minute ride and there is a beach on the edge of the town there. You can get to Asos (lovely)and Fiskardo (very crowded with tourists) by bus, but get to the bus station early to get your ticket. Agia Efimia is also a pretty town and has a shingle beach with crystal clear water and you can get there by bus. Buy some beach shoes to save your feet from the shingles! To see the loggerhead turtles, go down to Argostoli harbour in the morning, when the fishing boats are throwing scraps into the water. Kefalonia is a beautiful island.

Maria was extremely helpful and super nice. The appartment was big, had a fully equipped kitchen and was very clean. There were also beach towels available. It is located in the best possible spot in Argostoli. First of all there is a large free parking space right in front of the appartment building (it is a BIG plus in the case if you rent a car) and second it is just a few minutes walk to the street where all the bars and restaurants are located. If I will come back to Kefalonia, I would definitely stay here.

The best hotel we’ve stayed at. Absolutely incredible. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Already thinking about our next trip at Canale. The hotel is beautiful and clean but the staff is what truly sets Canale apart from every other luxury 5 star hotel. The staff is absolutely incredible; kind, knowledgeable and always ready to help. Will be recommending Canale to all our friends and family.

Andreas was an amazing host and gave is information about the whole island and what we could do. We also stayed in other places in Kefalonia but 10 days after we stayed with Andreas we asked him if we could drop of our bags so we could walk freely one last time through Argostoli before taling pur flight home and that was no issue at all. incredible host, incredible central location.

Breakfast was excellent a wide selection of foods to choose from, buffet style where you can eat as much as you like, lots of health options to choose from. Location right on the water front, road can be noisy at times however this is not the hotels fault. Lots going on, plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Closest beach is in walking distance if you fancy a good walk.

The location was perfect. We were able to park our car right outside the hotel. The restaurant below offered a lovely daily breakfast and all of the staff were so friendly. What we loved the best was having our balcony door open and looking out onto the water and the mountains every morning. The apartment was well supplied and very clean.

King A makes a great base for exploring Kefalonia, whether by car, boat or coach. It is walking distance to many good restaurants and cafes, the port, the ferry to Lixouri, and the bus station, and a short taxi ride to many nice beaches.
