With traditional Irish music and dancing, The Abbey Hotel offers full Irish breakfasts and bright rooms with private bathrooms. Free parking is provided, and Killarney is a 25-minute drive away.

The room was quiet. The food at breakfast was good, but it started later than other places we had stayed (8:30 start time). The location was very nice. The main street in Ballyvourney has a sidewalk with nice countryside to see.

Peaceful Cottage, hotel in Macroom

Peaceful Cottage is located in Cork, just 22 miles from University College Cork and 23 miles from Blarney Castle.

The cottage is very far out in the country- the air smells sweet and it's SO quiet! I wanted to know what it would be like to live in a cottage in Ireland and this was a perfect experience! There were cows all around and the host was so happy and welcoming! Her husband kindly drove us to the closest bus station and helped with our baggage- thank you so much !

Just stayed on the hotel for one night - hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were really pleasant and breakfast was good. Bar Food was finished by 8.15pm which was a minor disappointment as we were late arrivals (arrived before 8.30pm)...but overall no issues with the accommodation.

Excellent gateway to west Cork and a destination in its own right by the Castle remnants of the MacCarthy Muskerry Lords of Gaelic Ireland, and along the Banks of the Sulán River. Perfect for visiting peaceful, stunning Gougane Barra, Máigh Cromtha, land of the Caoineadh Art O Laoghaire has it going on, nice cafe by Castle market gates too, also the nearby Ghaorthaidh , the only alluvial "drowned" forest in Europe , Paddy Hodnett the whiskey coinneuseur worth a shout into if travelling onto Inchydoney and the Clonakilty Distillery

Great places to eat, we tried the Granville bar and grill lovely food. As for pubs we went to goldens both nights as recommended by our taxi driver John Casey. Fantastic pub, friendly and fasinating decor. Friendly staff and locals. We stayed at the loft, a little beautiful b&b, but a little far out of macroom so we used a great local Taxi, we used was Casey's taxis, reluable and very friendly.

Only went in to Macroom to eat, had dinner in the Castle Hotel and it was great. It was recommended by one of the staff where we were staying, outside Macroom, and it was well signposted once we got into Macroom. The car park in the Castle Hotel was a little tight though.

Very nice location for our few nights, good place to stay with lots of nice day trip to take from here. We had dinner one night in Granvilles which was the best meal of our whole trip to Ireland, highly recommended.

My second time staying at this hotel and just as good as the last time. Great friendly service, wonderful food and old fashioned hospitality. They have maintained all that is good in traditional service and comfort. Lovely soft furnishings in spacious bedrooms, proper glasses, fluffy towels, fresh water, tea coffee facilities with proper cups. No plastics and little touches like a butter knife standard and preserves served in little dishes at breakfast. They've seen no need to reinvent the wheel. Please don't change.

First cross county trip since recent lockdown restrictions lifted so a bit nervous stepping out again. However, every possible safety measure in place and the friendly welcome and chat with all staff was not lost behind the necessary face masks and safety measures, good to see young staff enjoy their workplace as much as the team in the Castle Hotel. Food choices excellent again as was the service. Quiet location at night so plenty of quality sleep and rest for touring around west Cork.

A prefect stay 😍... we went there as part of our honeymoon and it was just our best stay yet in Ireland. Deidre and Thomas go out of their way to make it comfortable for their guests. We stayed at the loft and the views are breathtaking. The little kitchenette is stocked with everything you will need for breakfast. Definitely going to visit again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a quaint stay 😀

The Apple Lodge was so amazing. And our host literally thought of everything, going to great lengths to make our stay as comfort and accommodating as possible. The property is in the quiet countryside outside of the quaint little town of Macroom. It was a delight to see rabbits on the lawn and birds enjoying the water as we sat on the deck to watch the sunset/sunrise over the lake.
