We received a code and could get into the room any time. Kitchen was well equipped. Room was big and quiet. We were lucky to see the aurora in this city, but we needed to drive shortly outside of the city.

Small, quiet Icelandic town but with enough facilities to support a vacation stay. Plan to get all your supplies by 18:00 as stores close then.
Location is central to all sites on the peninsula.
Not many restaurants in Olafsvik and those open were closed or on limited hours in the off season (late September) but there are some in nearby towns that were open.

Bikers paradise is far more beyond our expectations. it is close to church mountain and national park, sea views and mountain views with some waterfalls. The whole family of the host is one of the kindest people we have ever meet. They are very happy to help whenever their guests need. Apparently we were acknowledged they have helped many guests for free, such as stuck in the snow, car breakdown , late arrival without food etc.

A lot of things to see around the peninsula - make the circular drive around the tip. Visit Laugarbrekka, Malarrif Ligjthouse, Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge, and the Gatklettur. A lot of restaurants nearby (I had some great fish n chips while there). Local folks are courteous and helpful. I hated to leave.

Ólafsvík is the larger of settlements around Snaefellsjokull national park. There are plenty of things to see on this end of West Iceland, so 2-3 days is a good length of stay here. It has a bank, shop, and gas station; a fairly remarkable church, and a post office.
The guest house has a few bed rooms some share a bath and half-bath. It worked out well for the three of us and the price is very affordable. We met a young family there and enjoyed there company in the shared kitchen area. If you are traveling with your own food supply this is really an excellent choice. From the hotel we walked to town and walked on a path up around the hills behind the small development where the guest house is located. We went whale-watching from this town so it was really perfect for the things we wanted to do.
I was anxious about what our experience would be based on the reviews I had read but given there was but the hotel exceeded our expectations ( travelling with my husband) spotlessly clean, basic but everything you needed was available including a fridge and T&C making facilities . Quiet at night and in an excellent location. you don’t see much of the staff but they are pleasant when you do. check in is a little odd but efficient .
the cost was relative to all other hotels in the area - all of Iceland is expensive !
Olafsvik is a must stay on your ring road experience! It’s very cute and surprisingly not as small as I imagined from online images and description. Inga and Oli were very sweet with their concern for guests and extremely hospitable. The house is so cute and cozy. The living area is very spacious, the bathroom is clean, and kitchen has all supplies. The house is filled with thoughtful and beautiful decor. We made friends with people traveling from Germany. I highly recommend. This was one of our favorite stays.
Biker's Paradise is a cosy guesthouse where you feel like home. It is so clean, well organized and everything smells so fresh! Oli (and Inga) are so friendly ans helpfull. The location is amazing: perfect to discover the peninsula. Olafsvik is a sweet little town. Take walk through it because it is so cute. The view from the guesthouse is also very impressive. There are two beaches in front of it and they are perfect for a short walk or to watch the sunrise.
The town of Olafsvik was a perfect stop, & Bikers’ Paradise was a gem! The location has a beautiful view & is near a great walking/hiking trail. There’s a shared bathroom situation here, but there are 2 (only 1 with a shower). Never had to wait! There’s a great common area, & the kitchen has many amenities. I met Inga, one of the owners, & she is incredibly friendly & clearly wants guests to have a comfortable stay.
Great apartment in the center of Olafsvik, perfectly situated for a tour of the Snaefellsnes peninsula. The place is quite big and very practical, there is everything needed in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and small but nice bathroom with a washing machine, a great feature after all the hiking in the rain. Decoration is vintage but clean and cosy. Communication and check-in/out are super easy.
Our host was friendly and told us about his partner's artwork. This place is also a gallery. The rooms are upstairs, opening onto the kitchen. The owners are downstairs if you need anything. We enjoyed chatting with other guests. Breakfast was self-serve. Olafsvik is close to attractions on the Snefellsnes penninsula, and there's a nice hike right in town that gives you views of the area.
Great kitchen, and a really good location in Ólafsvík. It's an easy walk to restaurants, the pool, the gym, Vínbúðin, and the grocery store. And it's so close to Snæfellsjökull National Park. Just minutes away from great hiking and scenery. The living space is nice for both dining (table for 4) and having a movie night - with a nice size TV and easy to connect a streaming device.
Tidy, very clean and comfortable. we were surprised how good it was given the description as a hostel. In some countries hostels can be poor but not in Iceland it seems. The only minus was that the heating made the room very hot and not ideal for sleeping but the beds were very comfortable. If you are thinking of staying in Olafsvik, this is a great option!
We very much enjoyed our two nights in Olafsvik, as part of our visit to the Snæfell peninsula. As we relied on cooking our own meals during our stay in Iceland, this place was pretty perfect as it had a kitchen containing all the necessary utensils.
Very clean, what you see is what you get. This place is nothing fancy, but it's a great location for traveling around the peninsula and whale watching from Olafsvik. The kitchen is nice, with everything you need.
Lovely spot in the lovely small town of Olafsvik, walking distance from everything. Very comfortable apartment. Good location from which to explore the Snaefellsnes peninsula.
The double room is very large, comfortable and clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen at the hotel. The staff is very nice. The hotel is easily accessable.
Olafsvik is a cute little town with nice access to local attractions (Kirkjufell). The town is great for kids too, with a jumping pad and nice swimming pool.
Nothing the hotel took my booking the same evening that I was supposed to stay and they didn’t send me information about the room and the pin for the room
