Hotel was excellent! Staff was really nice. Shout out to Abraham that was always there to help with whatever we needed. Restaurants were great and the beachfront area was our favorite.

The hotel which is located in relatively unspoilt forest about 30 km West of Puerto Morelos on the Ruta de los Cenotes consists of a number of cpmfortable bungalows bulit in the Mayan style around a small swimming pool and a restaurant serving simple but tasty meals and drinks. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the nearby cenotes, the coast between Cancun and Tulum (including Cozumel) the Mayan sites of Coba and Chichen Itza. I was travelling alone on a birdwatching trip but the hoel was clearly popular with couples and families seeking to explore the Yucatan penninsular away from the resort areas. The complex is run by a lovely couple, she is Mexican and he is French, who are trilingual (French, Spanish & English) and for whom nothing is too much trouble. An added bonus for me was that the grounds of the hotel turned out to be very good for birdwatching with a nice range of resident species and winter visitors from North America.

This is a new property. The room was comfortable, clean, modern, and had cute boho decor! The shower had strong water pressure and nice hot water! The a/c worked well. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Located just 5 mins from the beach and right next door to several cafes and small restaurants. Would definitely stay again!!

Loved it when we started going to shop there from an all inclusive more than 10 years ago. So started staying there instead. First couple years were great. Then COVID for 2 years. Since then we have been going usually twice year. But this time (April 2024) noticed how it’s gone from laidback, mostly authentic town to tourist centered with a lot of building. Used to have building rules that no higher than 3 stories. That has definitely either changed or been ignored. Still nice place, just changing into a smaller (so far) of Playa del Carmen.

Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem!
Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem! Very clean, quaint and relaxed! The beach area is pristine and the water is exactly that Caribbean azure blue green! There's lots going on but it doesn't seem busy. Very chill - happy vibes! Gorgeous sunshine and a warm breeze! Tons of choice for food and drink, tours, and necessities. Pretty perfect!

Lovely little village with some local character, where there are some local people, not just tourists. Perfect location for everything: snorkelling, the airport, cenotes, local attractions, and yet much more relaxed and low key than most other places on the coast.

This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful.
This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful. NO furniture except for the bed and ONE wooden chair. We had to put our luggage on the floor. NO closet or hangers. NO bottled water - which should be a given for any Mexican hotel. So glad we were only there for two nights and then could escape to our place in Akumal. We do love Puertos Morelos and the restaurant on-site at the hotel helped make up for our miserable stay.
LAST time we book with Booking.com.

Puerto Morelos is a quiet, laid back town that tries to provide both modern conveniences, while maintaining its ethnic culture. The restaurants were plentiful and the food was well prepared. If you are staying on the beach side, everything was within walking distance. (The bookstore was a pleasant surprise.) This is not a party town. Most of the visitors are middle aged and hail from the USA and Canada. For us, this was the perfect place to relax.

I know people who travel far distances to go to Cabo, Costa...
I know people who travel far distances to go to Cabo, Costa Rica, the Caribbean islands, etc that haven't been to Puerto Morelos. Puerto Morelos is a short flight from the US and has excellent resorts, beautiful ocean views, and plenty of water and land activities to choose from. Puerto Morelos also offers several options on the types of resorts that suit your lifestyle, Resorts for families, for adults only, adults only that are top optional, and even couples only resorts that are clothes optional. We've traveled far distances to other resort destinations and sure, each location has it's unique qualities. But Puerto Morelos unique qualities and is only 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport, which offers many direct flights from US and other international cities.
Room was great for 3 people. First floor with hammocks outside, very private and quiet. Ability to use kitchen was a bonus as we could store mangos and rum there. Bikes available for guest use were old but great fun. Walkable to bars and restaurants along quiet road. Hotels further from town were less accessible. If you want a fancy all inclusive resort feel don't stay here- this place is chilled, friendly and feels a lot more authentic than others along this stretch of coast.
Amazing place!
Awesome and friendly staff! Luis, the owner, have is a lot of useful advise of all the possible activities and tourist attractions!
The internal area of the hotel is very pleasant, you can chill comfortably by the pool while hosting from afternoon sun!
Breakfast was perfect, too - different every day, with fruit, fresh juice, very good coffee and hot (in terms of temperature) Mexican food!!
We'll definitely come here again on my next trip to Puerto Morelos
The location was fabulous. Right on the beach. Valentas massage tent is right in front and an amazing massage for $40 USD. Puerto Morales is a small town that is very quaint. There is a very nice grocery store 4 blocks into town and the town square is nice. If you like lots of activity this isn't the place to go but if you like to chill on the beach, read, have massages, and good meals inexpensively then this is your place.
We found Puerto Morelos to be a pleasant first stop on our Yucatan Peninsula journey, and our stay at Yax Kiin was an integral part of our sense of the town. A short walk from the beach, the hotel offered easy access to tasty restaurants & a morning run around town. Should we make a return trip to Quintana Roo, we would likely stay longer in Puerto Morelos, since it avoids the hustle & bustle of Cancun & Playa del Carmen.
The room with sea view and terrace was amazing, pool lovely, staff super friendly and really helpful. Great location, comfortable beds, good restaurant. Best hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks travel in Yucatan. Also Puero Morelos is the best beach location we had (we went to Tulum, Cancun and Akumal, but we could never have afforded to stay in a beachfront hotel there). Puerto Morelos is beautiful and super chiller
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. It was not included in our stay. The hotel has a restaurant/ bar. It does a brisk business for lunch served at tables or brought to your lounger. The location was perfect, it was on the beach front. Ask for a second floor room facing the ocean. Staff was excellent. Parking was a easy. Daytime entertainment is common, but not overly intrusive. Night time was quiet. A/C worked fine.
La Quinta Orquídea is a quirky and beautiful hotel right at the beginning of Puerto Morelos. The architecture is quite unique and the rooms mirror that.
My room seemed small but had everything I needed. Including a little seat outside. The breakfast was good tui get you started.
The location was great, with everything in waking distance.
A one of a kind experience in the heart of the jungle. Like sleeping under the stars safe and sound in your own little bubble. The hotel lacks for nothing; service, food, high speed wifi, private cenote, sweat lodge, telescope, AC, comfortable beds, and a beach-like pool. All only 20 mins from the beach at Puerto Morelos.
Good location within the hotel section of Puerto Morelos. The pool was great, and the room was good too. My second morning I had a friend visit me near the pool (see photo). I liked that the room was on the pool level as well. I just walked out of my room and jumped in the pool.
Hotel El Moro is our favorite stop in Puerto Morelos. We have stayed many times and in many rooms. Each of them are unique, cozy, and comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent, the staff exceptionally helpful, and the location is just a few steps from the beach.
Hotel Amar exceeded our expectations. Great atmosphere, clean rooms, awesome location (.4 Miles on the beach to the main town area). Our room was the top floor and had a view of the ocean. Spacious and clean. They provided beach towels, also! Breakfast was amazing!
The location is great, on the beach with umbrellas and chairs. We had a little balcony with a partial view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was not good, needed a new shower head. The staff was very nice .
very relaxing by the pool with amazing staff that serve drinks to chairs/pool! good selection of different food. use of multiple hotels/pools in same resort. All inclusive was truly all inclusive with real cocktails made.
The hotel building is in large area and on the beachfront, the breakfast is 6/10, most of the staff are friendly, the rooms are little worn and need refreshing. Unfortunately, that's where the good things ends.
The location was perfect, right on the beach and very near all the restaurants. The room was very well air conditioned and the fridge in the room was nice and cold. The manager was very friendly and pleasant
Amazing new hotel in La Colonia (the town side, not the beach side) of Puerto Morelos. Just a few minutes walking to the old Chedraui, my favorite local restaurant El Sarzon Jarocho, and local shops.
It was nice to stay right on the beach. All rooms have a view of the ocean. The rooms are very spacious. The reef in Puerto Morelos is amazing and hosts a broad diversity of coral and marine life.
Edward and his partner are very kind and nice but unfortunately seems like they can’t do much to fix the place
The view and the fact it is on the beach
