Great location and friendly staff/owner. Simple, but everything works and it‘s very cosy and comfortable.

The hotel is right at the entrance in Kiruna, from south, and it has a very imposing architecture, the bar at the 12th floor offering an amazing view until far distance.
At the ground floor there are the lounge/bar and the restaurant, with great food options (buffet for breakfast and a-la-carte for dinner). Also there is a gym at 11th floor with basic but enough utilities for most needs. at 12th floor there's a sky-bar which exceeds the view and I fully recommend.
The room was very spacious and with comfy beds, nice and clean bathroom. The daily cleaning is not by-default, if you need cleaning one day you need to ask at the reception.
A special mention for the very helpful and supportive staff, both at reception and at bar/restaurant.
We really liked it and fully recommend!

A great place to stay! Large room, super clean, fast WiFi. There was a shared kitchen and living room with all the amenities one would need. The breakfast was nice and the lunch buffet really worth the money
Located only 3.1 mi from Kiruna, Máttaráhkká Northern Light Lodge offers beautiful mountain views. Facilities include a sauna, a hot tub and lounge with a fireplace.

Stay in general was good, everything was fine. Neighbourhood was ok, a bit far to the center. Kitchen and living room is comfortable and Sauna is great.

They are moving the city so the old city looks like a ghost town. There is almost nothing to do and you don't see people on the street. Lots of accumulated snow and many fenced areas. The new city is not well established. It looks like a construction site and has few restaurant options. I didn't find any souvenir shops open to buy gifts. The center closes at 3pm and there is nothing to do in the city. I recommend taking trips outside the city, such as sledding, snowmobiling, and not wasting time in the city center until the move is completely completed.

A super cute small town in the middle of the Swedish arctic.
A super cute small town in the middle of the Swedish arctic. Make sure to book your tours in advance as there is not too much to do in Kiruna itself. Walking through the city and the surrounding nature is absolutely gorgeous in winter. Take care that the Buses needed to go to different places are very unreliable and don't run on weekends or holidays (especially the ones going to ICE hotel and jukkasväri). Not many restaurant options and many were closed when I was there (Christmas time) or closed early.

I wouldn't spend more than 4 days in Kiruna, and make sure you book lightsofvikings.com for northern lights hunting, they do everything professionally, you wouldn't regret it. We saw aurora borealis. And dog sledding. Ice hotel is a must visit! really like how they do it, and about 10-15 minutes walk you can see reindeer farm! And we don't like the old city, because they move the city to the new city, giving us the impression like in the walking dead movie, no one there, so quiet and no life, especially in winter.

We enjoyed all the activities we had in the beautiful landscapes of Kiruna, from dogsledding, to northern lights hunt, to snowmobile, to visiting a Saami village and reindeers. We highly recommend this place, preferably staying outside of the center that feels closer to nature.

Kiruna is a nice city, quite, clean, the land is beutifull.
Kiruna is a nice city, quite, clean, the land is beutifull. The visitor center in the mine has to be visited and Abysko National Park. In winter snowmobile has to be tried. Their is nice panaroma about the city from a mountine where seat lift or car takes on.

That was a real winter vacation with a lot of snow and cold.
That was a real winter vacation with a lot of snow and cold. I can’t say that I would want to live there permanently but just for a visit it was a great experience. We had a lot of fun with activities like Husky-tour, Northern-light tour, visiting Ice-hotel…
The hotel his not far from the centre of Kiruna, very close to the airport bus stop. My room was quite small, but sufficient for one night. The room was clean. Nice view form the window. Quite comfortable bed, a desk, a toilet. There are shared showers together with sauna (which was closed due to pandemic). Shared kitchen - clean and well organized. I enjoyed breakfast - simple, with limited choice, but tasty. Check-in and check-out quick and without problems. Reasonable price (esp. taking into account limited accommodation offer in Kiruna)!
A lovely hotel on the bus route from Kiruna Airport. The room was gorgeous with a separate sleeping area & huge bathroom & great outlook. Warm, clean, quiet, very comfortable and a wonderful bed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the buffet dinner & breakfast were great. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Got a reasonable price for the Saturday stay. Within walking distance of the train station, as well as key bus stops in Kiruna. Access to private washroom, TV and shared kitchen facilities. Wide open space in the room, which is unusual during our trip to Abisko where rooms are cramped.
Amazing place in very best position for Aurora chasers , with a magical view on a frozen river and Ice Hotel … and the best staff who stands 24/7 at your service ,to help you with everything you need , provide you all necessary informations and to make you feel like home .
We had a wonderful experience in Kiruna and a huge thank you to our wonderful hosts for being so accommodating and so hospitable. We definitely recommend this lovely apartment for its accessibility...from. dog sledding to the Ice Hotel, to the mine to shopping!
The location was awesome, directly in front of the cabins is a lake that is perfect to see the northern lights. the camp is far enough from Kiruna and still close enough to visit. Lena was extremely friendly and had a lot of tips for us.
Location was great. The bus from/to the airport has a stop very close to the hotel. There's a nice little bar inside the hotel. Breakfast was good; a bit small, though, so it got crowded at times but not too bad.
Located in Old Kiruna so life of facility is limited, and there is now very little in the vicinity as most have relocated to the new Kiruna. Nice to be able to experience this, and it is close to the old church.
Even though the hotel building doesn't look that great from the outside, it is very nice indoors. It's in close proximity to Kiruna's old city centre, bus station, and the best-rated restaurants in the city.
A small, quaint Sami-run hotel in a quiet corner of Kiruna. Good wifi, a decent-sized room, comfy if rather narrow beds, on-site parking and a good breakfast at a reasonable price.
Location is the best in Kiruna. Breakfast is very good. Great restaurant with very good and non standard menu. Exceptional location for seeing the northern lights. Great spa!
Our first 3 nights in Kiruna were at Northern Light Camp. The large windows in the facility were great! It was cozy and clean. Northern lights were great!
