Good hotel just next to the airport. Supermarkets and shops are just 10 minutes walk. Clean rooms, complimentary breakfast was good enough.

Room sizable with reasonable kitchenette. Couch let us stretch out and relax at end of the day. Asked for pots & dishes so we could make simple breakfast and evening meal occasionally. Parking was safe, and 5 minute drive to Rosemount Park&Ride for a 40 minute single train ride right into central downtown. Simple $5 day pass was all we needed for trains. "Chuck" at front desk a delight to meet!
Located 2 miles from O'Hare International Airport, this Des Plaines hotel offers free airport shuttle service. The hotel features an indoor swimming pool and a Bistro-style restaurant.

The breakfast was excellent, had everything we needed and very well laid out. Everything was well topped up. The location was good with a Target and food options across the road

The place is ideal for people who need to stay near the airport, almost all the hotels offer shuttle services. It's near the CTA station as well. Many chained fast food/ restaurants along with all retail stores are nearby as well.

i was awoke at 11:48 p.m. claiming they smelled smoke. i was sleeping in my underwear. i told him he did not have permission to enter, however, he DID enter my room while my girlfriend and I were sleeping in our underwear. Thankfully, the door was latched. They then charged me $250, i asked for proof, they said they had pictures and i am still waiting for that. Horrible place.

Where to start in describing my short stay at the Best...
Where to start in describing my short stay at the Best western Des Plaines? I travel for work so I booked here for 3 nights through booking .com. I work in healthcare and I work night shift. And despite informing the receptionist that I would kindly like not to be disturbed during the day, I did not get to a chance to sleep. Firstly, the house keeping kept knocking on my door the whole day, shouting in the hallway and at some point they opened my door twice. I kept ignoring them but later when I got to open, there was a guy at the door who walked into my room right away to test the fire alarm. I found this both rude and as a woman traveling alone very uncomfortable. During my second day I made a decision to shorten my stay therefore I decided to check out at 6pm yet they charged my card for 3 nights. When I called, the manager was very rude to me “That is our policy” he kept repeating in a tone I wouldn't use on a dog. “Your policy is being flexible, our policy states no refund” we were exchanging words back and forth because I did not understand why they had to charge me for the 3rd night I did not use.
Fast forward, To my return I then contacted the central customer support helpline, they forwarded my complaint to the hotel and probably the same manager I spoke to who reiterated their policy again 3 weeks later.
In short let me summarize.
Customer service non existent.
Cleanliness. Poor
Comfort. Poor
Value for money VERY poor.
If you are thinking of staying Western Des plaines. Look for another hotel!
I had a flight cancellation at 9pm so had to find somewhere quickly.
The website neglected to say they don't have a shuttle (!) They DO, but it's only once an hour. And you need to call (my ph was flat so had to charge find their number, yada yada). The next morning for the 6am shuttle the driver was 15 minutes late (some were panicking, others got Ubers). The receptionist was super nice, I feel he was the stand out but was in a losing battle as no one person can elevate the overall cheapness of the place.
Shuttle driver was very nice and went beyond to help me with my MANY pieces of luggage and my children.
Staff was very friendly and gave me advice on food to order as we arrived late.
Room was clean, big. Beds were very comfy fell asleep instantly. And my children did too.
Shower was nice and had all facilities.
Great location from airport only 6 minutes drive
Didn't do breakfast was only there for stop over but would like to go back and get the full experience of the hotel a d Chicago
10 minutes to the airport. There is a free shuttle - went out of the terminal building, waited for 10 minutes and it arrived to the spot where buses from other hotels arrive. I think you are supposed to book it but no one told me, so I may have been lucky that there were other people who also wanted to go. The driver wearing a Patagonia jacket is very pleasant and is doing his job admirably.
Beautiful home with tasteful designs for the kitchen and bathrooms. Complimentary snacks upon arrival - thank you! The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and it seemed safe around the area. There are lots of spices and supplies in the kitchen for cooking up a meal.
I found this hotel to be comforting. I somehow enjoy the staircases: wide in width of the space and steps were narrow/shallow. The rooms were nice and clean as arrived, lady maintains the breakfast area every ten mins or so, check-in and check-out was done smoothly.
One of the clearest hotels I’ve ever been to. Staff was always cleaning and very friendly. Excellent grab and go breakfast including hot options like egg bites. Definitely recommend staying at this hotel. They do have shuttle service to Ohare
