This is a place where we have stayed before! My mother is 92 years old and needs various requirements! The hotel went out of their way to meet these needs. The Service was excellent!
We had a lovely comfortable room with all the facilities we required. The Sea View was great, Mum was very happy sitting and enjoying the view of the ships going in and out from the Isle of Wight, Brittany etc. We could see the top of the Spinnaker Tower, which was lit up at night.

Royal Dockyard of the British Isles

In the picturesque Old Town you’ll find typical English pubs, coloured houses, and small independent shops. It also has a Fish Market provided by the city’s small fishing fleet. My accommodation, booked and paid for, was a complete disaster. It no longer even existed. Don’t get caught out, and don’t believe anything you see about staying at ‘Zoom’, it is a lie.
I was thankful to get a room at Travelodge in Portsmouth instead, but all this after a long day’s travel by train from up north.
Travelodge felt like heaven! Portsmouth was fine, but tainted by my bad experience.

The coastal area is nice to walk along. The Mary Rose & Victory Museum are very good.
Portsmouth city centre is dull, lacking greenery or planters, many shops are empty. It is not an attractive city centre!
There is a statue of Charles Dickens in the Guildsquare otherwise the area is grim.

The attraction was the harbour.
The attraction was the harbour. The ticket was expensive but well worth it. The Mary Rose Museum was phenomenally good - exciting, imaginitive and caught the attention of grandparents, parents and children alike. The Victory was almost equally good and the guides there were exceptional. We also visited the Warrior where the guide took over explaining to the children, told us an immense amount but also had us all in fits of laughter. Strongly recommended for all ages
We also very much enjoyed Portchester castle and the exhibition on the prison there (and the cafe in the church.
The location was fantastic, only 5 minutes walk to the beach and even closer to the restaurants, plus only a 9-minute drive to Portsmouth Old Harbour. Despite that, the room was quiet and calming, and the bed is comfortable You could have a really good night's sleep. The owners understand what families need! There is a clean communal kitchen, so you could buy takeaway and dine in the sanctuary of the hotel, avoiding the crowds in the restaurants. The decor of the bedroom was pleasant, too.
I love this apartment. It's very clean and well presented and equipped with everything that you may need. The hosts are very helpful and we're available to answer any questions about the property. I had a great weekend stay and the location is perfect for both Portsmouth City center and Southsea Beach. Great value for the money, I would definitely like to stay in the apartment again. Thank you for letting me stay in your beautiful home.regards Doug.
This was a lovely hotel to stay in, was in a great location near bus and train stations, Portsmouth Harbour and Gunwharf Quays! The staff were lovely and friendly and even though we were early our room was already ready for us to use! There's a lift to all floors, and restaurant and bar in the hotel! We also enjoyed our breakfast both mornings! It's buffet but they do hot breakfast too, which was delicious to eat and hot!!
A large hotel and restaurant situated in a great location - particularly handy if you are catching a ferry from Portsmouth. The room was warm, quiet, and clean with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a cheap but decent restaurant attached, and the full English breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and there were CCTV cameras watching over the large attached car park.
Great location by Gunwharf Quays and the historic dockyard, and very convenient for Portsmouth Harbour station. We were in a standard apartment but had a view of the Warrior from one of the windows. Very clean and generally comfortable. Either soundproofing in the building is excellent or all the neighbours were away, we didn't hear a thing from other flats. Barry was very efficient at meeting us and letting us in.
The Location is fantastic for the attractions in Portsmouth. It is a well equipped, clean modern property and the hosts are nice. Parking is available which saves you quite a bit at the location. This is the second time that I have stayed here and I have not been disappointed by anything. The beds are comfortable and the area quiet. Good price too for the area and facilities.
The location was great, especially for the esplanade and beach. There was parking outside the property, and a bus stop directly outside the hotel that I used to get into Portsmouth city centre and back. The hotel and room were clean and the decour was lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, and it was delicious.
We loved the hotel and the friendly staff our food was lovely our hotel was also close to all amenities to, easy walking distance and the people of Portsmouth very helpful and friendly we visited southsea as bus stop right outside hotel a very enjoyable holiday we are looking forward to returning next year
l was disappointed that one of them common things and cheaper to buy and can be found in any guest house or hotel was not a there in the kitchen. ( Tea, sugar and coffee wasn't). tThe shower drain was blocked and l was standing in a pool of water whiles taken my shower.
Staff were very pleasant. The check in / out process was very simple. Breakfast was good but very busy and seating was somewhat limited. Parked in Gunwharf Quays which was heavily discounted (free for 24 hrs) with car parking ticket validated by hotel - excellent!
On a freezing winter night and day, this hotel provided a warm welcome. Toasty warm room, hot shower, comfy bed and hot buffet breakfast the next day. Perfect for a quick trip down to attend a conference. Quick walk to the Guildhall and nearby docks.
Location could not have been better - right across the road from Portsmouth Harbour railway station. View from my window was HMS Warrior. Nice big bathroom and shower. Great included breakfast at the neighbouring Keppels Head hotel.
Lovely hotel. Room was very nice and clean.
The location is a bit far from Portsmouth city centre, however the hotel is more than worth it. We had complimentary parking and we were able to charge our electroc vehicle free of charge.
The location of this hotel is excellent within Gunwharf Quay and less than 5 mins walk from Portsmouth Harbour station and ferry. Breakfast was nice and the room comfortable for a short stay.
Very good location - 10min walk to the Gunwharf Quays and dockyard. 2min walk to city centre and some bars.
Hotel was clean and modern. Nice selection of drinks at bar and very relaxed
Visiting Portsmouth FC for a football match. Ground adjacent to hotel. Free parking available at B&Q across the road.
Room was very basic , but clean (except for smell issue).
Great location in old Portsmouth. Terrific staff who shared the incredible history of the inn and were very helpful in all respects. Breakfast included was very nice.
