The Pier walk was great and visit to the lifeboat at the end. We also loved 'Beaches' Restaurant and the 'Oyster Kitchen' We loved walking along the coast both ways. Leigh on Sea had some super little independent boutiques; "Ruby's" for one and an amazing boutique called "A Touch Too Wild" where the owner could give Gok Wan a run for his money! Southend is great for walking or there is an open topped bus - we just walked until we found somewhere lovely to stop for a rest; we had "Elevenses at The Oyster Creek Kitchen, then 'put the steps in' browsed the boutiques in Leigh on Sea and then enjoyed great food at an Italian Bistro which served superb food! Our Guest House had its own parking and was convenietly situated beteeen Leigh on Sea and Southend itself. We stated for three nights and feel completely refreshed!

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead.
In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Going around visiting places. Eating out.
Going around visiting places. Eating out. Great taxi service. Hotel was not so good. Not disabled friendly. Fell in bathroom not built for anyone who is disabled.. Hurt myself quite bad. Screaming in agony. Apart from that. Will not be staying in this hotel again

Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!)
Southend (bearing in mind our visit was in Winter!) is actually really nice. We didn't expect much (we expected Morecambe, but got Southport!). There decent shops; the promenade was clean and open. We ate in The Last Post, but would certainly try other places when we visit again.
It is hard to give a fair representation of a town after a very brief visit, but it made a sufficiently good impression for us to want to see more, when the opportunity arises

The seafront apartment is a perfect location for those who want to stay close to the beach. It is very spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. I could not have asked for a better place to spend my New Year eve, bearing in mind that it was booked on a short notice of 2 hours before we reached there. Yet we were provided with all basic necessities like towel, coffee, milk and a clean tidy apartment. Overall, we would like to thank the host for the wonderful stay and making us feel right at home with a cozy atmosphere.
Breakfast was very good. Room was clean and tidy (and quiet), location was perfect. Across the seafront road was the beach, within easy walking distance was food outlets and pubs. The pier was within 20-25min walk. Seafront road was clean and tidy, busy at times, but not too noisy. When we were in Southend (June) the place was easily access, the fair at the entrance to the pier was quite good, but no loud music blasting out, so wasn't an issue. All in all. we had a pleasent first visit and would return here.
Very nice estuary view, although the window is quite small. When we arrived around 9pm, I asked for the estuary view room and the receptionist upgraded it for free 🤩 that was nice. Old building, that gives the hotel a special charm… Spacious room and bathroom, a portable heater in the room on top of normal heating was very handy for those like me who is never warm enough 🤪 Comfy bed, clean everywhere! Friendly reception staff 😊
Our room was quiet, warm, comfortable and well supplied with a nice view out over the estuary; we managed to park at the hotel, which was very convenient and all the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. A significant reason for choosing the hotel was it's proximity to places we wanted to visit in Southend and that proved to be ideal both for the seafront and the town.
Location is great, walk to the bottom of the lovely road and you can catch the train to Leigh On Sea or Southend, or you can walk along the seafront.
The road the apartment is situated on is lovely and you are stones throw away from shops and cafes.
Host was excellent, great communication.
We will be booking again for our next visit
The Last Post Wetherspoon Hotel is across the road from Southend Central train station. So its easy to find the hotel. The rooms are above the Wetherspoon pub so drinks and all meals, including breakfast, can be had downstairs in the pub and at reasonable prices. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the sea front.
Was much more comfortable than a hotel room, car was parked in bay so secure for the weekend. Very clean and tidy. Staff were brilliant in replying quickly to questions and very helpful with information leaflet they left. 5 min drive or cab to seafront. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
it’s location is super. gorgeous views out over the estuary. We were very lucky to get a parking space outside which was free! only free parking spaces on seafront in town are outside this property. lovely little cafe below gif breakfast and lunch was a bonus.
An excellent choice for a stay in Southend. The hotel has been recently very nicely refurbished. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A pleasant stroll along the seafront to the pier. I would recommend this hotel. Claire
Was a lovely ensuite hotel room in a nice hotel not too far from the pier head and main seafront attractions (about a 15 minute walk) with nice views from the hotel and a nice bar area too. Would definitely go back again.
For the price this hotel exceeded my expectations, the pictures don’t do this place justice. My stay at the Haven House Hotel gave me the full Southend on sea experience you can find beauty in the grittiness.
I absolutely loved how the staff was so polite and welcoming, and the hotel room was so spacious with a huge Tv,tea ,coffee, ironing services, hairdryer, and huge bed very comfortable, with sexy sea view.
This B&B is clean and welcoming and in a perfect location for a trip to Southend On Sea. Emma couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect and breakfast was lovely.
