Good location, close to downtown, but you can hear lound airplane sometimes which is not a big deal to me. The room is clean, bed is comfortable. I would stay there again.

The room was clean and comfortable, though not air conditioned. Nice view, and good value for money in Hawaii.

Because of poor neighborhood, my family was not comfortable staying in the hotel, we booked another hotel, we did not go to the hotel. We were expecting refund but not yet happened. Priceline customer care did not help us to resolve the issue.

It was just the most delightfull place to finish my visit to the big island before flying out. Right by the sea. Really helpfull, pleasant, accomodating hosts. Check In super easy. I loved I said I'm a bit early and brian said seems your right on time. I loved that. I felt totally safe and welcomed as a female solo traveller.

We stayed near the Barn, in a cabin with communal bathroom and kitchen that the staff and work awayers use. The whole is stunning and really well kept, and we loved how private the cabin felt. The showers were great and toilets always clean. The staff were always supportive, and having access to a private waterfall and section of the river was a massive treat. We would definitely stay again.
Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, this ocean view accommodation is 5 minutes’ drive to the Hilo Bay and less than 10 minutes’ drive to Honoli'i Beach Park.

Enjoyed Liliuokalani Park and Japanese Gardens, holiday lights festival in Japanese Gardens, live Hawaiian music at Grand Naniloa lobby bar, beautiful free zoo with great animals (donations welcome), waterfalls, proximity to Volcanoes NP. We stayed on the sunny side of the island for beach time for five days, then drove over the mountains and along the beautiful Hamakua coast (which has gorgeous botanical gardens) to Hilo, spent a day in Hilo - walked to Liliuokalani Park and around the Japanese gardens and the little island; drove to the zoo and waterfalls - and after two nights in Hilo checked out and drove to Volcanoes NP and spent the afternoon there, very crowded on Christmas Day; drove around towards Kona, had drinks and food at the King Kamehameha hotel in Kona and looked at the amazing huge collection of historical Hawaiian paintings and accompanying signs there, like a museum of old Hawaii; and drove to the airport and flew home.

Downtown is pretty tired looking.
Downtown is pretty tired looking. It really needs some upgrades and fresh look. However, the park is Fantastic!! Beautiful trees and walkways, really relaxing. Needs some coffee shops in the area. We had dinner at Ponds, great food but waiter was rude to the people at the next table.

Friendly people in spite of inflation and still some great values. Beautiful geography and a wide variety of climates can be experienced on a single island. Downtown has been revitalized and there is even more nostalgia for the old Hawaiian buildings there since the Lahaina devastation on Maui.

The beds are amazing - we slept really well despite being in a double bed. I love that there’s a fan and AC option. Location is perfect but you still need a car to get around. It suited us perfectly for 2 adults and 2 kids and was easy to go on tours from this location.

Not a busy centre but certainly had enough features and options for us. Wonderful natural environment - as well as being within close proximity to sensational nature features.
Preferred Hilo to Waikiki.

Hilo is so different than other parts of Hawaii.
Hilo is so different than other parts of Hawaii. It had an old-fashion-y feel to it. Older buildings in downtown and beautiful moss covered bridges. Gorgeous giant, old banyan trees and other beautiful trees and plants you dont get to see in other more popular locations. Has amazing waterfalls a short drive away and lots of farms that give the area a quaint feel.
One can jaunt down hill into the Hilo waterfront, a little over a half hour. Maybe grab some coffee at the 7-11 at the half way point, or get some stronger stuff downtown. A quick Uber/Lyft ride to anywhere in town. Clean and well maintained.
Quiet suburban setting. None of the rampant homeless shenanigans of downtown and bayfront hotel and home-stay locations... which I personally find fascinating but could use an occasional break from, as this location provides. It's got familiar "normie" appeal.
The property is a large hotel in a very good location right on Hilo Bay. Right next door to the gardens and a short drive to down town Hilo (certainly walkable too). Aside from another hotel on the beautiful tree lined street, all of the other buildings are boarded up or abandoned in this otherwise amazing location. The lobby of the hotel is updated and has a very relaxed and comfortable feel. The inside is somewhat outdated but functional and clean. The view is very nice from the room balcony.
The ocean veiw room on the 5th floor was exceptonal. The first room the had us in had a veiw of the roof and roftop equipment. I would highly recommend te ocean veiw room. Staff upgraded us for free but It would have been tragic to have to have spend 4 days looking at that roof. The staff at the hotel from front desk, valet, house keeping staff, bar staff, entertainment, was all to shelf. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.
The hotel itself was so beautiful. It was located on Hilo Bay so very pretty scenery. The paintings on the walls, decorations and the pool area was so comfortable and nice. Our room was nice, clean and big. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. They offered free things to use on the property like bikes and you get a complimentary taste of Kombucha Tea which was good.
The absolutely most wonderful staff. Free coffee, water, tea, hot chocolate 24/7. Complementary bikes and paddleboards. Yoga and other classes available in the morning. Hotel has been recently updated. The courtyard and pool are open air, which is truly lovely.
We had a great stay and will go back if in Hilo.
Nice 100 year-old house above the beach, within walking distance of downtown Hilo. Full use of well-equipped kitchen. Fruits (papaya), veggies (avocados) and packaged snacks were on hand, included. Breakfast was real and home cooked, not the horrible packaged processed food you find in hotels.
The best thing we can say is that the hotel was VERY convenient to the airport, which was ideal for us.
We stayed one night in Hilo only to get to an early flight on time (vs. Kona). This met our needs, but we wouldn't plan a vacation trip to this hotel.
I liked the connivence of how close it was to hilo it was only a 3 min drive to downtown and i loved the fact it was an affordable hotel considering other hotels on Hawaii were much too expensive. The Staff were very sweet and were on top of everything.
The hotel was well-located on Hilo Bay. The bar and restaurant were pleasant. The staff was helpful. Our view was of Coconut Island, which was a great park area in the bay. The bed was comfortable. The park beside the hotel is magnificent.
Because of poor neighborhood, my family was not comfortable staying in the hotel, we booked another hotel, we did not go to the hotel. We were expecting refund but not yet happened. Priceline customer care did not help us to resolve the issue.
Could not beat the view. Staff was exceptional. Rooms quite comfy. Hilo is not Kona so do not expect it to be the same. Hilo is old Hawaii and the amazing staff embody the Hawaiian spirit of aloha. Very special place.
This was the best place we stayed in Hawaii. The sunrise room was absolutely beautiful and much bigger than the pictures appear. We were very comfortable staying here. The breakfast is also absolutely fantastic.
Nice location on the Hilo side. Room and bathroom clean. Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. TV. Would have been nice to stay longer. Maybe next time. Very close to Hawaii Volcano Park
