lovely, friendly guest house and if the weather is nice, a sweet outdoor space to sit in overlooking the river. Five mins walk - either along the river front or through the museum gardens to the centre of York and 5 minutes across the bridge to the railway station.

Staff was excellent; food was spacious and breakfast was yummy! Loved how sweet the managers were with my son. Loved having the beautiful back garden to explore from our room.

Barbican House is a quaint house very fitting with the town of York. The property is exceptionally clean and the room very cosy and comfortable with everything you need. Durga and his wife are very welcoming and accommodating hosts and the breakfast is a perfect way to start your day. Would highly recommend Barbican House to anyone wanting an authentic visit to York. Location is excellent.
