It was so calm and quiet, perfect space to wind down and especially during low season you get the ultimate perk of having basically no people at the beaches ;) Sofia the host was super friendly and helpful... couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Nice kitchen and facilities! Just keep in mind that you have to do groceries etc in the centre, as there's only a small restaurant around (which is cheap and good though). And it's a different island than Madeira itself, not everyone may know this ;)

I arrived late at night and he stayed up to welcome me, gave me a free beer after an exhausting day, and we had a lovely chat. The location is beautiful - right on the sea front and the sound of the waves coming in and out is really soothing. Celio also provided a lot of free breakfast foods which was very much appreciated, and one can eat out on the terrace by the waves in the sun. The parking is right near the property, which is helpful, and the town of Sao Vicente is only less than five minutes' drive away, and has a supermarket, restaurants, etc. Wifi was good, room was comfortable and well-proportioned (for one guest at least), and the price is unbeatable! Again, I can't overstate (i) the relaxing sound of the waves, and (ii) how great a host Celio is. Thank you Celio!

The property is around 10 km from Santana's traditional houses, 32 km from Marina do Funchal and 43 km from Girao Cape. The hostel has family rooms. Really homey and super welcoming. Loved the other guests and also the staff/volunteers. Great location for more adventure-y sport/activities. Burger/Pizza nights really let you meet other people as well as locals. Also really clean.

Dune Coliving consists of two very nice houses, a beautiful garden and direct beach access. I can highly recommend this place!

The mixed dormitories are carefully decorated according to traditional local crafts and furnished with bunk beds. They offer access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests that wish to have more privacy may stay in double or twin rooms. Loved this place, very homely feel right in the heart of Funchal. The ladies who run the place were lovely and very helpful. Felt right at home as a 23 year old solo traveller. Definitely will return in the future.

Dorm rooms have lockers, individual reading lights and access to shared bathroom facilities. Extra bed is necessary to request to the Hostel. The staff was super friendly and helpful with tips about restaurants, sightseeing...anything really. Arrival was super easy.
