It gets very busy so would recommend going I the morning to avoid jostling with others trying to take photos. The actual checkpoint is just a wooden booth so people might find it smaller than anticipated. Also be careful of a small group playing a street game trying to entice tourist to try and win 50euro. We witnessed a woman find the ball under the correct cup who was obviously working with the group of men to fool tourists into having a go.

I went through Checkpoint Charlie as a student in the 80s. I am disappointed with the commercial souvenir shop it has become. The history is still there under all the glitz if you look for it. Please do.

The best museum in the world - bar none.
The best museum in the world - bar none. So much history and extremely well presented and fascinating. I was there for 6 hours and that was not enough. Make sure you allow enough time. Get your passport stamped out the front for a few Euro.

Amazing and unbelievable. I walked through this one evening and then drove through another day. During the day there are "soldiers" that looks like from the time of communism. It`s quite emotional for some people.adamekJapan
