A ticket only gets you into a few tombs and which ones are open rotates. King Tut is a separate ticket. Not the most exciting tomb (since he died young there wasn't much time to make a big tomb), but his mummy is there.

The Valley of the Re is an amazing place that requires at least 3-4 hours to fully enjoy and appreciate. It's highly recommended to get a guide. The entrance fee is 600 Egyptian pounds and 300 for students, but you need to have a valid student card. While some tombs are included in the tickets, you can only choose 3 tombs to enter. Three tombs require an extra fee: Seti I, Tutankhamun, and Ramses Vand VI. We visited all three and really liked them. The Tomb of Tutankhamun is the smallest with an entrance fee of 500 Egyptian pounds for adults and 250 for students. The Tomb of Seti I is the most expensive, costing 1800 Egyptian pounds with no student discount, but it's considered great and worth the money. The entrance fee for Ramses V and VI is 180 for adults and 90 for students. There is a small train connecting the ticket office and the entrance, costing 20 Egyptian pounds, but the distance is walkable, and one can opt to walk to the entrance. Many local workers inside the tombs offer to take pictures in exchange for a tip. The toilets are not free, and they are dirty; you need to pay 10 Egyptian pounds without a receipt and 15 if you request one.

Plan before hand which tombs to see.
Plan before hand which tombs to see. Worth buying tickets for the individually priced tombs - these are much less crowded. The valley is scorchingly hot, take water, wear a hat and visit early in the morning. Take time to visit Valley of the Queens especially the tomb of Nefertari withs its wonderful decoration.

Paying the extra money to see Seti's tomb in the Valley of the Kings is definately worth it. The steps inside can appear a bit daunting, but it is not as steep as some tombs and the Tomb itself has to be seen to be believed. Make sure to look up ... the paintings on the roof are beyond spectacular.

Too many people all entering tombs all at once.
Too many people all entering tombs all at once. Chaotic, crowded, very sad as these sites are not being cared for, they are just taking the money. Advise to get there when they open. We went alone at 6.00am but after we visited with a tour, I counted 40 buses as we arrived with a line waiting to go in. Thousands of people . I think they should ban photos as the selfie people are extremely annoying. History is being abused not preserved or respected here.

Travel as early in the morning as you're able to manage.
Travel as early in the morning as you're able to manage. As soon as the sun comes up the heat kicks in. And don't be pulled in by locals wanting to give you information you probably already have! And they'll want paying too.

The hotel is close to The Valley of the Kings but a little too hidden from the CBD. The room facilities were modern and well equipped, and extra toileries were provided in the bathrooms. We had the room with an extra large bathtub, which was amazing.
The host is very welcoming and accommodating.
He allowed us to wait in the hotel for our airport transfer for a few hours.
The pool area was clean & there are heaps of beds to lay on. The apartment is big , there is a lot of room and not cramped. It is a close location to Valley of the Kings and the ferry to the east side is a 10-15minute walk from the property. The staff are super lovely and will help you with everything and anything you need during your stay!
Breakfast was fresh flat breads with local cheese, honey and bananas with turkish coffee on request. Staying on the West Bank meant easy access to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, & nobles tombs plus a village feel. The hotel is an easy walk from the Nile and ferry jettys.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and and the location is really good, close to the train station, Nile river, Luxor temple, etc. They offer tours for a good price. We did the one of the Valley of the Kings and it was vey good. The breakfast is very good and the terrace at the top of the hostel very nice too.
Great accommodation a short drive from the Valley of the Kings, across the Nile is Luxor and Karnak, with everything you need in the streets around.
The apartment is really huge (100m2), consisting of two large bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen and separate bathroom and toilet. You can also use the washing machine. Everything is clean and comfortably furnished, specially the mattress was excellent.
The owner is really nice and very helpful.
I highly recommend it, it is also suitable for a longer stay.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Arranged trips to Valley of the Kings with guide. Also a balloon trip and transport to Aswan by taxi. Particular shout out to Aslam and sorry lost the other names. Quieter on The West Bank of The Nile
the staff and the location are perfect for staying in Luxor as its right in the main street and walking distance to the train station .. as for getting to the valley of the kings and other things in the west bank the hotel arranged a driver who's English and knowledge of the area was excellent.... the breakfast was plentiful for a day of exploring ... Would always stay here anytime I was in Luxor
Very close to the Nile river in a quiet and peaceful location on the West Bank. An easy taxi ride to the Valley of the Kings and other key sites. Lovely big apartment with two bathrooms. Very comfortable. Staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help us. Breakfast on the roof with a gorgeous view was a welcome addition. Lots of nearby restaurant choices. Avoid the hustle and bustle here. Pool was clean and welcoming. Very nice to have access to a washing machine.
Important: I did not stay in this bedroom as it is at the top of the building (4/5 floors) and has no lift.
Due to the fact that it is affiliated to the Amon hotel on the same street, this was not my final accommodation at Luxor West bank. I stayed at the Amon hotel paying an additional fee in cash.
Location: Quiet street, close to hot air balloon departure point, Dandra temple, Valley of the Kings, so pick up time can be later than other accommodation. Close to the boats for the Nile crossing to Luxor East Bank
This place is located in the heart of The Land of The Pharaos. It's like going back in time. And you have the whole place to yourself. Cozy, easy and a few minutes away and you are right on the Nile and the temples are nearby. We went sightseeing in the mountains, sailed on the Nile, horse riding.. visited the temples, the valley of the kings.. and the bazaars? ?? Unbelievable...it's magical. And when you can have your own apartment instead of an expensive hotel?? Yes, this is the reality..
