A full day is needed if you are a history buff.
A full day is needed if you are a history buff. Go when it opens if you haven't got an online ticket and preferably when the sun is shining as apparently, it fills up when it's a rainy day. It's a good way of getting out of the heat if it is hot and some welcome air conditioning. Don't miss the Memorial Gardens outside. Allow at least 30 - 45 mins for the journey if going by bus depending on the time of day.

We got in late and went over there around 6pm .
We got in late and went over there around 6pm . It closed at 7pm but we bought a 24-hour ticket so we saw some of it that night, and the rest the next morning. We are glad we did because it allowed us to beat the crowds that came in the next morning.AndreaGermany - 10Scored 10

Having spent 5 days on a pilgrimage to the invasion sites, the Memorial visit was the best museum/ historical display by far. Although when first seen I thought the entrance price a bit expensive 7 hours later when I was leaving I thought it was great value for money. I was only wanting to see the D-Day story and this covers everything most of which I was not wanting to see, and for 17 Euro you are better off going to the other sites for 6-8 Euro. Pegasus Bridge was much better for me.PaulUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The VERY BEST WW2 Museum in Normandy. Make it your 1st STOP to set the scene both Historically and Geographically for Your WW2 Normandy visit. Was a Special moment for Me to see a Typhoon that my Father flew missions in, hanging in the Entrance Foyer!
