Well worth the effort, you visit this very interesting museum as you walk up the six floors of the tower, however, it is a slow slope, so much easier than staircase steps. Each floor has a different story to tell, images and soundtracks, AWESOME. And the view from the top is a great reward, overlooking the bay and the city. very informative great to learn about the local history there are small phone size phones that give an audio guided tour in various languages, the view at the top is great, its a long spiral stair case up so recommend flat shoes make sure you take your smart phone there are some great photo opportunities at the top, small gift shop at the top so you can buy water if you require, there are no public toilets inside, allow about 1 hour to 90 minutes

It’s very informative. However I think a review of how information is shared wd be good- ie, audio is an overall view but the photos/maps/text expands. I loved the drinks machine in the reception which were free, and also free biscuits.Its very convenient for getting buses in every direction, plenty of cafes and restaurants near and far and including bakeries. Plenty of shopping, close to the sea front promenade, boat trips from the white tower, and make sure you take a trip to the lagoon in Kalochori to see flamingo's, a number 40 bus. For the view take a 23 bus to ano poli.

Nearby there are a lot of nice bars and different tavernas. Aristotelous Square, is only 5 minutes by walk, and White Tower 15 minutes away. The room has all the amenities you need for a family. Next time that I will go to Thessaloniki, for sure that I will book the same apartment if there will be availability.
