Historically significant Basilica.
Historically significant Basilica. We came from Rome, so this was a lesson in simplicity in comparison. One of the most charming old towns we were in. Locals were friendly and the shops were unique to the area.SoCalTravelUnited States - 10Scored 10

It was amazingly busy when we were there, but still very peaceful. Allow at least 2 hours ( or longer) to take everything in. We were surprised that there was no entrance charge. The frescos are so old but still in almost perfect condition.

Lovely medieval building, with a fresco of the madonna and child above the door to the building. Fridge full of water, & on the first floor. You reach the facility by car through a private road. Inside the house you have all facilities, except laundry machine. All very clean and comfortable. Parking facility at the house and a nice terrace (if the weather is fine, which was not the case at my visit).

They prepare home made breakfast, my favourite is torta salata the Easter cake. The house is peaceful, clean, comfortable. The location is superb, just a few steps to Basilica di San Francesco. This house made my stay in Assisi very memorable. Yes, i would say you can call this a house/home instead of accommodation. Warmth of a home is there. Grazie mille Davide and Anna. Ciao!

Also, the breakfast is a steal!!! For 5€, you will be full and it will be catered to your preferences. The AC is great. They will actually make you feel at home, cater your needs, and the communication is good. The bathroom is also big! Plus, the place is near to Basilica di San Francesco and just a few minutes of walking to the town center. Overall, very nice stay!CliffSpain
