Highly recommend the Pestana Tropico in Praia -- we had a great stay with the hotel as our homebase for exploring Santiago. Staff is attentive and helpful, breakfast spread is consistently huge, beach proximity is unmatched, and the gym is modest but gets the job done. Thanks for a great stay!

The view from our room was so amazing. Our balcony wrapped around the whole room. We chose a room with AC (suites). The staff was wonderful. The restaurant staff kept our drinks flowing. Steps from the black sand beach. The second restaurant is walking distance or you can get taxi for about 60 cents

Located in Praia, 500 metres from Sucupira Market, Hotel Cesaria boasts a sun terrace and views of the city. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. This hotel is about 5 minutes on foot far from the Plateau. They offer rental car and they can give you a sim card (CVmovel) with 5GB at 700 CVE (less than 7€). We have rented a car and we bought the sim card, it was all good. The owner and the staff are friendly and kind. The breakfast is excellent, with continental, sweet and typical food. It's worth it. I recommend this hotel, here you can find the real Morabeza!

We had a fabulous three days stay here. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely views from the balconies. we enjoyed walking in the surrounding hills. We had excellent massage on site. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is excellent with a delicious buffet supper and a pleasant breakfast.

Genuine Kap Verde
After Sal, Praia and Santiago felt like a real country - genuine Kap Verde with real people and real city. Plenty to see and lots of places to eat. Too bad we only had time to explore Plateau thoroughly, not the other districts of Praia, as we were eager to see more of the Santiago island. Three nights in Praia is too little!
