Set in Kelso, 41 km from The Maltings Theatre & Cinema, SCHLOSS Roxburghe, part of Destination by Hyatt offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. This was our biggest surprise of the trip and our favorite. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, best warm shower, amazing views from our room, gorgeous location and the staff were all great people. The largest breakfast selection, everything was fresh and good, and the restaurant staff was very helpful.

Set in Ettrickbridge End, 22 km from Melrose Abbey, Cross Keys Inn Ettrickbridge offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Fantastic location. Lovely room, good facilities, luxury toiletries, plenty on the hot drinks tray and loads of milk. Great bar and restaurant.

Set in Earlston, Red Lion, Coorie Inn offers 3-star accommodation with a bar. The hotel offers both free WiFi and free private parking. Great welcome from Susie and Curt. Full breakfast upgrade as well as the steak dinner and roast beef dinner were very well prepared by Curt. All can be recommended. Also great thnks to Tony Wood of Well Fed a few doors along who took care of the breakfast while Susie, Curt, their kid Rosie an Lowie and the dog Hugo started their holidays. A great place to stay if you want to discover the Borders. To be fully recommended.

Located in Yarrow, The Gordon Arms Restaurant with Rooms features a garden, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. The new owners took an excellent inn and have transformed it into an excellent restaurant with rooms. The food is very good without being unnecessarily elaborate. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel like you belong there.
Black Bull

Around 25 miles from central Edinburgh, Black Bull enjoys a prominent location in the pretty Scottish Borders town of Lauder. The entire experience was such a surprise. Great lamb shank at dinner. Warm welcoming staff: pub and lodging. The owner made all the live edge chairs and tables.

In the centre of Melrose, The Townhouse Hotel is a 2-minute walk from Melrose Abbey and less than 3 miles from Sir Walter Scott’s former home, Abbotsford. Beautiful bedroom - spacious, light and comfortable. Very good menu for dinner and breakfast - enjoyed the food. Friendly and helpful staff both front of house and in dining room.

Clean and cosy room, nothing missing. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Next time in Melrose: Burts again, for sure! Thank you!

Set amid the stunning Cheviot Hills, Chirnside Hall Hotel is a rural retreat just 15 minutes’ drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish Borders. We were made to fell most welcome, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and the view was stunning. Will definitely return one day.

Set 39 km from Thirlwall Castle, The Grapes Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in Newcastleton and has a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Good location on Main Street, lovely wee pub on ground floor and dinner was tasty. We were a group of cyclists and they accommodated our later arrival very well.
