Value for cost: while not , definitely feel like we received extremely high quality service, lodging,, food and drink for the price Owner/Manager Roger - went above and beyond, sharing menu information, wine suggestions, food options for our two 9 year old children The rest of the staff were equally inviting and helpful at all times, from our reception host on 6/15 to the he lady staff member who helped me find more sugar at 0500 on 6/16 to our waitstaff. We stayed in 5 different hotels during our trip to England, all of the same "level", and this hotel far exceeded all others on this trip, and definitely in the top 5 of all hotels in our lifetime travels in terms of the combination of all factors that make a stay pleasant - elegance, quality, amenities, convenience, service. Well done!!

Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

Wooler zelf heeft niet zoveel te bieden, maar voldoende eet gelegenheden, een goede pub en ligt aan de rand van Northumberland National Park. Prachtige omgeving.

Niet ver van Beadnell in Bamburgh staat kasteel Bamburgh Castle. Bezoek aan Farne Islands voor vogelkolonies en zeehonden. Northumberland is verder prachtig. Mooie natuur, historische dorpjes, kastelen en Victoriaanse huizen b.v. Gragside. Bezoek ook Hadrian's Wall. Restaurants zijn te vinden in Seahouses.

Heel mooi strand en uniek: zo'n machtig kasteel aan het strand! We hebben mooie strandwandelingen gemaakt. Rustig dorp niet overlopen door toeristen (zoals in naburig Seahouses). Goede uitvalsbasis om de mooie kust van Northumberland te verkennen.

Het is een net en proper hotel. Goed onderhouden. Gewoon deftige nette Inn. Grote kamers, maar ook familiekamers. Ontbijt was goed te doen. ‘s Avonds kun je er lekker eten. Wel je eten bestellen aan de bar, maar dat geeft niet.
