This was the best hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon. Immediately on arrival we knew we picked well. The whole place is stunning. The staff friendly and helpful. You have your own butler to help you while you stay. The cenote is stunning. Beautiful to swim in with the fishes. Way better than a normal pool. There is also a pool and jacuzzi area which is stunning with a swim up bar. Our room had the wow factor with our own terrace and jacuzzi. The food was exceptionally tasty at dinner and breakfast and was so much choice it was hard to pick. They help you with your bags and car. The location is very good close to all the beach hotels in the hotel zone of Tulum. I really hope one day we can stay here again. The music they play throughout is very hip and relaxing. Tulum is paradise - palm trees, wide white sandy beaches with a crystal clear turquoise sea. Tulum is really quiet and super chilled. It's not a place to come to party, thankfully! People are lovely, it's really safe (though walking at night you need to be aware of scorpions and tarantulas) and there is so much to do in and around Tulum that you need at least 2 weeks to do it all. Taxis, food and drink are cheap and in great abundance. If you visit any sites in Quintana Roo and the Yucatanm make sure you're there at 8am as by 10am they are already packed.
Cancun proper, is much different from the "Zona Hotelera". The state of Quintana Roo was founded in 1973, and as a tax base, high dollar tourism was planned to be the main income source. Now some 40 years later, 80% of the area is covered in pavement, which leaves little or no place for water to drain, and on top of that, there are 20,000 hotel rooms a day flushing toilets that drain into the lagoon where boats, tubes and jet skis are rented to ignorant tourists to swim and play, due to little or no sewage treatment on the paninsula. Another beautiful place destroyed by human consumption. On the lighter side, I found all of the locals to be friendly and welcoming. Many, who's entire weeks salary adds up to what we may spend on a single nights dinner were more than deserving of my thanks and gratitude.
Great place for diving, please combine with the Cenotes on the Quintana Roo mainland and shark or whale shark dives depending the season
Amazing town... People were friendly, beaches clear and clean, the main strip pleasant to walk through with shops and restaurants, bars and clubs are busy for nightlife, not too commercial (yet), plenty to do around town and also around the area (quintana roo).. only good things to say!
Bacalar is a great place to visit. It is a pearl of Quintana roo and has plenty to offer in terms of nature, sports, local (law key food), etc. When selecting a place to stay, be aware that some people are taking advantage of the turism and can overcharge you for rather low quality of service. Have a look around and ask for prices, everyone can find something to satisfy his/her budget.
extremely touristy, most mexican people were workers rather than customers. Much more separation between local people and visitors compared to everywhere else we travelled in Mexico. (It was the only place we visited on the Quintana Roo coast) The beaches are beautiful, but most hidden behind hotels. Some of the local cenotes are superb!
An alternative to the glitzy largeness of Cancun, still with plenty of its own nightlife. Expect turquoise water and loads of day trip options. A perfect base for exploring Quintana Roo.
Tourist trap. Over rated for what it is. We‘be been travelling all over the Yucatán peninsula and Quintana Roo. If you want to party and have fun this place is great for that but if you want to see a bit of the peninsula some quiet and relaxation then avoid this place. You’ll find better places down the coast where beaches are not overfilled.
Holbox is exactly how I imagined Mexico would be. I’ve been traveling in a lot of places in Yucatan and Quintana Roo and Holbox is my absolute favorite! It is quite, relaxing but a lot of great restaurants and bars and beautiful beaches. They use golf carts to get around which is super fun because you can always rent one.
Too many tourists and aggressive sales people all around the area from Cancun to Tulum! We've spent a night in Playa del Carmen only because we went to the Cirque du Soleil. Honestly I prefer the rest of Yucatan than Quintana Roo and Riviera Maya
Easily the best place to stay if you are in Quintana Roo. It is too bad that we only had two nights booked, but it was the best hotel experience we've ever had. The breakfast was simply amazing and rich. The restaurant was really delicious. They also had a private cenote which was a great addition to the overall experience. I would highly recommend having a rent-a-car if you are staying here, as this is the only convenient way of transportation (in Quintana Roo in general). We would definitely stay here next time we are in Quintana Roo.
I was reading a lot of feedback about a beach in Catalonia Royal and yes - definitely this is the best beach I have been to in Mexico so far in Quintana Roo - turquoise water in high sargasso season (no sargasso there). Great is also you can book catamaran trip which I really loved (thank you for it;)). Food is fantastic as you can choose daily from several restaurants - favorite was an Italian one with the best pizza in the world. I enjoyed a lot all animals living in the garden under apartments part.
We found Puerto Morelos to be a pleasant first stop on our Yucatan Peninsula journey, and our stay at Yax Kiin was an integral part of our sense of the town. A short walk from the beach, the hotel offered easy access to tasty restaurants & a morning run around town. Should we make a return trip to Quintana Roo, we would likely stay longer in Puerto Morelos, since it avoids the hustle & bustle of Cancun & Playa del Carmen.
Good value for money. I stayed in other hotels in Quintana Roo where I paid same price and service was way below. Spacious rooms, great location, rooms cleaned properly. Clean towels and good shower pressure (also not a given in Mexico). Cool design of the hotel and amazing rooftop pool. Good location but need a quad bike or motorcycle to get around. Happy hour with great cocktails and good price.
Tulum
We know this side of Mexico very well. And I can honestly say that this is one of the most peaceful, well taken care of areas of Quintana Roo. The apartment seems to be brand new, and is clean. The beaches here are some the prettiest of the region.
this hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need for nice vacation in Quintana Roo. it’s well located (1h30 from Cancun airport and 30 min from Tulum). it’s extremely quiet, the staff is very nice and the food very good!
Clean. Spacious. Friendly. The hotel office is basic amenities and is very well located on a main road just outside of town probably one of the better hotels in this small town in Quintana Roo.
The beautiful beaches, location, party haven and family place. Close to various restaurants and pharmacies. Loved the Starbucks inside the hotel.
Amazing pool, location and staff.
they did the request that i ask as was a happy birthday cake for my mom, all of them was very kind and helping
The whole service was super good .

unique location, beautiful beach, very kind and supporting staff, best drinks, especially the private beach is amazing, will definitely come back!
Amazing food and plenty of options. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Amazing place with friendly staff and calm surroundings.
Dinner at Teatro del Rio, Room amenities, kayak exploring through "The Islands", Xelfie options, caleta beach, non-motorized activities, chapel view, spa treatment at Muluk spa, unique restaurant decor. Overall staff friendliness.
Real Paradise to my wife and me, amazing experience for silver anniversary.
