Jelenia Gora is located at the heart of the Lower Silesia and it's a perfect location to discover all the attractions of the region, such as: Nazi buil Riese Underground tunnels complex, Ksiaz Castle, Czocha Castle, Mount Sniezka and many more. There is plenty of restaurants at the main street with the good food quality.
Unfortunately, what is truly interesting and original about Wałbrzych (Ger.: Waldenburg) is unlikely to appeal to the kind of people who stay in Ibis hotels. Much as in most other Lower Silesian towns and cities, Wałbrzych has not been ruined by sightless building projects from the 1990s or 2000s. Rather, the architecture pre-dating post-1945 Polish administration has recently been renovated. The town itself is a collection of formerly separate townships and villages amalgamated under the Poles. The centre has two attractive town squares, Protestant as well as RC main churches, some imposing public buildings, such as the Court house, Post Office, Town Hall and apparently well-restored tenement houses (Mietshaeuse). To get an idea of the contemporary urban area's size and layout, it is worth taking a train from Wałbrzych Główny (i.e. 'Main Station') via the virtually disused Wałbrzych Fabryczny to Wałbrzych Miasto (historically not Wałbrzych at all but a small spa town). A person staying here without a car would need to either rent one or possibly try to get hold of a bike for the day (not that I imagine any such possibility exists here: the price of visiting a place unspoiled by the excesses of smash-and-grab [neo-]capitlaism is to have less access to the kind of services now taken for granted; maybe they can help in the tourist office situated on the Old Town Square [Pol.: Rynek Starego Miasta]). The famous Fuerstenstein Castle, wrongly used by the municipal authorities as an icon for the whole town, lies a long way to the north and is in fact right next door to the neighbouring town of Swiebodzice.
Wroclaw is a beautiful city which can be easily walked around. It is very clean and tidy and all the people we had dealings with were lovely. There's a great church in the centre that you can walk up the tower and the hard work is rewarded by fantastic views. There is a small shed by the entrance to the tower where you get your ticket, and it costs 5 zlotys to go up the 304 steps! It is a spiral staircase so not for folk who get dizzy easily! There's a lot of craft beer pubs and restaurants are plentiful. We did a day tour to lower Silesia from here and that was great too. There's a lovely river walk or boat trips if you prefer. There's a city walk where you find little gnome sculptures, they are really quite good!
This is possibly the most comfortable hotel experience you could ever wish for. Nothing is too much trouble. The ever-so-slightly over-attentive owner, Grzegorz is continually looking for ways to uplift and elevate your experience. The man is a perfectionist and this hotel is the focus of his passion. Looking after his guests seems to be the pinnacle of his expression in his pride in welcoming you to his hotel. So, it must be said again: Nothing is too much trouble. There is a very good chef and kitchen. Everything is prepared from fresh ingredients and cooked to order. The room was quite spacious and the bed soft and cushioning. (There is no air-conditioning, but this might only be a drawback in the height of summer.) Most guests should be pleasantly surprised. And the location is wonderful. You really do feel as if you have arrived in as peaceful and tranquil a location as it is possible to find in Lower Silesia. And for explorers, there are some very pretty and equally relaxing places to discover nearby. (Our 'discovery' was the dam and its lake [see the picture], ending up with ice cream and fruity beer at Fregata, overlooking from the opposite side.) Grzegorz was immediately on hand upon our return to make his suggestion of cocktails (personally, I find it difficult to ignore someone as enthusiastic as Grzegorz, and even more so when they're enthusing about cocktails), and we segued seamlessly into a blissfully unhurried evening of delicious eating and drinking. We felt spoiled. I'm sorry that we could only stay for one night. But now that we've had to leave, we feel extremely relaxed. And extremely lucky.
We can only review Szarocin, including the whole region of the hilly Lower Silesia with for example the fantastic monastery of Krzeszow, the mountain village of Karpacz and the basilica of Jelenia Gora.Instead of staying just 2 nights we should have planned at least 4 nights so that we could get to know the region even better.
Fantastic main square with some amazing coloured buildings and a huge array of restaurants. Brilliant prices for food and drinks, although eating just off the main square you'd often find the better quality food and an even better price. The main square is very close to the River making it easy to walk around and find some of the well-known spots. The city has plenty of Free-Walking which cover many topics, from Festung Breslau and the Jewish History to the 300+ Dwarfs located around the city, but also many tours which venture off into the many sights in the Lower Silesia region.
Excellent base for those who want to discover the treasures of the Lower Silesia region. Close to many local attractions and mountain trails, a cosy haven for hikers and explorers. Breathtakingly pretty in the autumn season; great for the fanatics of winter sports too.
Wrocław is the best place to spend a weekend in Poland! The Capital of Lower Silesia's attributes include: city center - Rynek, atmosphere of Odra boulevards and magnificent modernist architecture, modern Polish cuisine and a GREAT SELECTION OF BEERS FROM LOCAL CRAFT BREWERIES. BEER POLISH CAPITAL!
Wroclaw is my favorite city in Poland. There are so many things to do here, and you have access to all of Lower Silesia from this point. On my most recent stay, I made a trip to MaluMika one of the only ceramic painting studios in Poland. It was a great experience, but be aware that you'll need a lengthier stay in order to pick up your pieces. Gniazdo is a fun little cafe on Swidnica near Teatralna that is trendy and fun. They have great tea and desserts, as well as bagel sandwiches. Getting around Wroclaw is easy. It's a very safe and walkable city if you're the type that likes to take it slow and see everything as a local. But the tram system is especially great for getting around the center as well. Be sure to check out all Wroclaw has to offer including the zoo, Hala Stulecia (great for ice skating in winter), multiple museums, and much more!
Amazing place that is one of the fastest growing cities in Poland. Full of history, many great places to see. People very friendly and you can fly from London by ryanair or wizzair so well connected and also big transport hub for other places in Poland, especially Lower Silesia which Worclaw is a capital of.
Beautiful picturesque surroundings, hidden gem off beaten track; the place with history carefully restored. This is a boutique hotel more like home from home . The breakfast is superb and excellent service. I wish I could stay longer and explore more Lower Silesia. I highly recommend this place for people who like vintage furniture and an old historic places with modern bathrooms.
Lubawka
A very pleasant place as a starting point for visiting the Adršpach Rocks and the castles and monuments of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. For example, Ksiaz Castle, the third largest castle in Poland, is about 20 minutes away by car.
Great communication even before arriving. Our very large and nice room was perfect for my husband with limited disabilities. We had dinner which was also very good; and our waitress was VERY NICE and helpful with suggestions from the menu. The breakfast the following morning was amazing!! I took the castle tour which was in Polish only (I speak English ONLY); however, since the guide also spoke some English, it would have been helpful for him to just "occasionally" identify things in English. The parking was convenient and our castle stay exceeded our expectations. We would definitely return and we will recommend to family and friends.
It is a beautiful historical place to visit, has interesting background, nice inside and outside tours. It is an old castle, with medieval insides and outsides, looks like at movies.
Beautiful location, wonderful staff, great wellness, delicious food, comfortable rooms, good relaxing atmosphere, GREAT facilities for children!
Tasty meals, diverse choice of food. Attentive, kind and helpful staff. Enormous swimming pool. Quietness. Good transit by local bus to all hike starting points
Absolute gem of a hotel. Everything was beyond our expectations. Fantastic room, super friendly and attentive staff, excellent spa, and the food at the castle hotel was Michelin 3 star quality. The golf and tennis were top notch too. Honestly, we would visit again for a longer period of time.
Apartments where nice and clean, towels and kitchen utensils provided, only downside was our view was facing another building rather then mountains other than that all great.
the location is great for walking and fishing, the large lake is just in 20m far from the house
I liked the place, space, food. And the view of the mountains.
i came for mountain biking. one of the best single track resort in central europe (especially on the czech side). however there is really no good quality hotel on the other side of the border. thanks god i found this one. good job Malinowy Dwor!
The place it is lovely, very big, food delicious 😋. Staff is very nice and helpful. We had some issues because nobody let us know about the swimming pool for kids ( was closed), but they found a solution to make us happy 😊
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my fifth stay at this hotel and I can highly recommend it to anyone visiting Wrocław. I always come here when I visit Wrocław as I really like this place. The hotel is modern, well-designed and located in my favourite part of Wrocław. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and offer a good amount of space. I’ve tried the restaurant in the Sky tower by on the recommendation of a nice lady from the reception during my most recent stay and I can highly recommend it, the menu offer a great selection of different meals and the food was delicious. During my previous stay, I really liked the toiletries at this hotel. Overall, I’d return to this hotel, but I would like try Deluxe apartment with whirlpool :)
great apartments, a wide selection of entertainment and friendly staff
Extraordinary breakfast, very helpful and polite staff, great location for relaxing and walking trips, just only 2,5 hours drive from Prague.
Many things to do. Especially for kids. we didn’t have kids kids, but we enjoyed too. the apartments and facility as a whole is very beutiful and tasteful. The viking club is really fun and the food is nice. They don’t use much spices so I guess it is really appropriate rather for kids. We loved the wellness. Absolutely a must go!
Breakfast was excellent. Massages in the SPA are amazing.
It was an amazing hotel exceeding our expectations, absolutely in love with this place, amazing staff and great breakfast!
I enjoyed staying here. There are clean and comfortable rooms.
My favourite wellness hotel. Very nice spa with outdoor tempered pool. Very friendly staff. Excellent food - best burger in lobby bar I have ever eaten. Very comfortable beds and great bathroom.
