As the name says.. definitely a queen of B&B. The best property we have stayed in so far. A homey feeling with a touch of 5 star hotel room. The room was spotless and immaculate. A walking dressing and a big toilet. The property has a dining hall which can be used for takeaways. It was only 15mins walk from the high street with many options of nice dine in restaurants and take aways. Would definitely be returning and recommend to our friends and family.
Situated in the heart of the South Wales valleys, Station House offers self-catering accommodation. In the picturesque village of Troedyrhiw, it is just 10 minutes’ drive from BikePark Wales.

Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Train and bus transport hub, and plenty of places to explore a short distance away.

Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

Centre -lovely trails and views.
Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach.
We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us.
Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Able to visit as near.
The space was really comfortable and had everything I needed, including toilet, shower, sink, kitchen, a choice of bunk beds and a sofa bed. There was also a large screen TV with Netflix and Sky, and I believe there was a BBQ area and somewhere to lock your MTB, if you came here for Bike Park Wales. There were a good selection of breakfast items waiting for me in the kitchen along with tea and coffee. There were two electric heaters within the room which which kept it very warm.
Great location, handy for the Brecon Beacons National Park and the local town Merthyr Tydfil.
Comfy, clean and spacious room with a nice view. Contained a mini fridge and the usual tea/coffee etc.
Very friendly and helpful staff all the way through our stay. The owner Moyra going out of her way to help us after we couldn’t make the first day of our stay.
Loved the amount of space you get for parking and open space. Bike lockup was spot on and not noticable. Living room was great so was the kitchen. Bedrooms were spot on with a large bathroom. Location was fantastic. 10 minutes from BPW. Nice and quiet high up in the hills. We didn't struggle with takeaways. We'll definitely be back next year.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and excellent value for money. The gym was well equipped, the pool was a lovely extra, not busy. The spa treatment was wonderfully relaxing and luxurious. The food was fantastic. Something to please everyone. The menu was carefully thought out and well executed.
excellent clean modern rooms with everything you might need. The staff were more than welcoming and were very accomodating to some problems we had. Lovely area and close to the places we needed including bike park Wales. Plenty of places to eat around the area, we very much enjoyed our stay.
The house was big and spacious for us and very clean. The location was also good because its near the place we wanted to visit and it's walking distance to the shops and takeaway..The host was also very helpful.I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit South of wales
Place was presented nicely and it was very clean. Lovely Vue from the kitchen. Location was good with sports bar and a spar across the road and no more than a 15 minute drive to Pen Y Fan. Messaging the owners was easy they replied quickly and where helpful. Great value for money.
Fabulous hotel very clean rooms comfortable bed .Amazing cooked breakfast. Great bar area a few minutes drive to the brecon beacons.
But what made it special were the owners Neil and Claire. They are a credit to their profession two of the nicest people you could wish to meet
The site is located a short distance to many of the trails in the Brecon Beacons, which is great if you want to go hiking but make sure you have dinner before returning home for the night as there are no restaurants nearby. The rooms were a good size and very quiet at night.
We enjoyed our one night stay with Howfield Hotel. The directions to access property was clear. The location was perfect. The room itself was very clean. I slept comfortably and there was no noise. The car park is only a few minutes from the hotel and all day fee was £3.50.
Ideal place to stay while working in the area. Everything needed for cooking. Big washer/dryer was really useful.
Covered area outside back door was good.
We will be glad to stay again next time we are in the area.
Perfectly placed for bike park Wales, cheaper than any of the other hotels around there. Also allowed us to bring the bikes indoors over night providing secure storage. For the money it was bang on.
Absolutely amazing , by far the best hotel/-airB and B I have ever stayed in. The hosts are brilliant and have made sure that everything you need and more is in the accommodation.
The Shed was the perfect location for our trip to Bike Park Wales. All self contained and warm and cosy on a V.cold November night! Lots of lovely little touches and good breakfast
Phil and sue were fantastic hosts. So caring and decent. Went above and beyond. A really credit to the valleys.
The bunk house 2, was so spacious, clean and welcoming.
